The truthes revealed below in my poem/parody America, the Bushieful may shock you. As you read it, the discomfort of cognitive dissonance may cause your otherwise rational mental processes to start shutting down as your subconscious struggles to preserve your former state of delusion. Resist this, and persevere. The reward for doing so is great. You will come to know the truth, and the knowing of it more than compensates for whatever psychic pain you may experience in the finding of it.

Our Government's Hellish Vision Of Endless War Against Hapless Third-Worlders

Why would our spooks kill 3000+ Americans in the 9-11 faux-terror event, you ask?

It really comes down to this: without an "enemy," our parasitical "national security" establishment has no reason to exist in its present form, much less continue to grow.

So, incredibly, they're pitching the hapless, near defenseless third world, which they've styled "the Gap" (the shaded region in the map above), as the latest "mortal enemy" of we who dwell in "the Core," their shorthand for the first world (US, Canada, Western Europe, Israel, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa) and all those who toil in the already-globalized (and, therefore, economically subservient) second world (Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Eastern Europe, Russia, China, and India).

Henceforth, if you happen to live in a society that prefers to order itself according to ancient patterns and are unwilling to exchange your traditional ways of living for abject subservience to the interests of multinational corporations or international finance, you and your kin have been marked for destruction.

If these megalomaniacs get their way, our recent invasions of Panama, Somalia, Haiti, Yugoslavia and Iraq are just the beginning. Watch Pentagon guru Thomas Barnett's presentation on C-SPAN of the globalists' master plan for endless war and you'll begin to get the bigger picture.

But to realize their hellish vision of globe wide war against "the Gap," they need we of "the Core" to willingly yield up to them our blood and treasure, continuously and without interruption, for years, even decades to come. 9-11 was a cynical, spook-sponsored psychological operation designed to manipulate we Americans into doing exactly that.

But we're not the only ones being cynically psy-opsed. The entire "Core" has been targeted. To get Australians and New Zealanders on board, the Bali bombing was staged shortly after 9-11. To get even Old Europe on board, and save Aznar's servile government from the righteous wrath of the Spanish people, the Madrid bombs blew, but then politically backfired, badly. And presently, coordinated airplane downings and the horrors of Beslan are warping the minds and hearts of Russians towards war just as 9-11 warped our own, for a while anyway.

But will we of "the Core" in fact respond as they hoped? Will we give them our sons and daughters? Will we give them the hard-earned fruits of our labors? Will we allow ourselves to become unwitting participants or witting accomplices in monstrous crimes against our fellow man? Or will we resist them and deny them the means they seek to prey upon the poor and the weak of this world?

Only we, the relatively rich and privileged people of "the Core," can restrain this all-devouring beast that purports to act in our name. Only we can make it act less beastly and more human. But will we? Or are we and this awful beast now no longer distinguishable?

Perhaps a bit of explanation for the skull graphic above is in order.

Bush and Kerry were both tapped into the "Order of Skull and Bones," a Yale-based elite secret society, only two years apart. Cousin Kerry, being the elder Bonesman, actually attended cousin Bush's macabre initiation. He witnessed the ghoulish ceremony, as Bush lay naked in a coffin, doing unspeakable things with a skull, as he recounted his sexual history to all those present that night at "The Tomb", the crypt-like compound of "The Order."

Every Bonesman has a secret name known only to his brother Bonesmen. It is said that Kerry's secret name is "Long Devil", while his coffin-mate Bush's is "Temporary". Make of this what you will, but this I know: there are approximately 800 Bonesmen alive at any given time in America, but only 600 or so are actually old enough to run for president, so the fact that two of these are now paired up in our first ever all-Bonesmen presidential contest marks an all time low point for our supposedly republican (small r) form of government.

Republics aren't supposed to be run by an elite secret society of inbred would-be aristocrats, certainly not one with such bizarre and occultic overtones. And yet, this is exactly our circumstance today.

If this fact sticks in your throat like a bone (no pun intended), then perhaps there is hope for our republic yet, provided, that is, each of us resolves to finally break out of the no-win two party trap they've set for us, and make a way of escape.

Flu-X: Conditioning Kansans to Give or Accept Mass Inoculations on Cue

This month, ten Kansas counties are going to conduct a “mass dispensing exercise” called “Flu-X.”

What’s a “mass dispensing exercise” you ask?

In the words of my own county’s health department’s press release, it’s a federally funded “opportunity to practice vaccinating a large group of people in a relatively short period of time.”

Specifically, folks (even babies as young as six months old) will be offered free flu shots, but only if they show up at a designated central staging area on the appointed day, within a narrow seven hour window of time.

The hope is that citizens enticed by the offer of free flu shots will swamp the staging area and provide public health officials with a scene comparable to what they might experience during what they vaguely describe as a “large-scale public health emergency.”

But conditioning local public health officials to accept as normal or necessary the mass inoculation of entire populations in a short period of time is only half their agenda. In the words of one Health Department Director, “This Flu-X exercise also gives the public the experience of participating in a mass immunization event. The public will be able to learn what is expected in the event of a large-scale public health emergency.”

It gives the public “experience.” It teaches us “what is expected.” Perhaps with enough conditioning, we’ll overlook the fact that the “experience” and “what is expected” is patently insane.

To my knowledge, there has never been a “large-scale public health emergency” in Kansas that has ever required a response as bizarre or draconian as this.

So what is it that they are really preparing us for? What sort of “large-scale public health emergency” would require mass inoculations of the entire population in a matter of hours?

And would such mass inoculations, should this vague “large-scale public health emergency” ever arise, be voluntary or forced?

Thankfully, these Flu-X “mass dispensing exercises” still rely on voluntary participation. Their “success” hinges on the public:

Believing that flu shots are actually good for them despite evidence that they contain mercury and other toxic contaminants far exceeding safe levels. For example, last year it was reported that flu vaccines were found to contain 250 times the safe level of mercury set by the EPA.
Showing up en masse at the designated staging area during the window of “opportunity” in order to get the shots for free.

I wonder if other counties in other states are inviting their citizenry to participate in such “mass dispensing exercises?” Or is my home state of Kansas being singled out for special attention by our federal terror lords? And if Kansas is being singled out, what might they have planned for us here, in our otherwise quiet corner of the world?

As the 9/11 event itself demonstrated, federally sponsored drills have an uncanny way of becoming reality. Such mass conditioning is not for nothing. Something is up.

Only time will tell, of course. But the fact that so many of my fellow Kansans are being conditioned to give or accept mass inoculations is not at all comforting. Hopefully, Kansans (and Americans generally) will reject the bait of free intravenous poison when offered, reject this insane “large-scale public health emergency” forced mass inoculation response paradigm the federal government is attempting to condition us all to accept as normal or necessary, and make these and all future “mass dispensing exercises” complete and total busts.

George W. Bush's Fatal Attraction

George W. Bush loves us. This much he made clear in his acceptance speech Thursday night.

Why, he loves us so much, he began his speech by unveiling a long list of new government giveaways and reforms he says he’d like to sign into law one day. There’s just one catch, however. He’ll not start work on any of it until after we elect him to a second term.

For some reason, Bush didn’t love us quite this much during his first term. Before his Thursday speech, this new list of promises wasn’t even a blip on his administration’s radar screen despite the fact that the Republican-controlled Congress is eager and willing to rubberstamp almost anything he might propose, no matter how pernicious. Since he’s done so little to advance such an ambitious agenda to date, some might question whether he really means to. Some might think he’s just saying he does to win a few more votes come Election Day. Pay no mind to such skeptics. We know he loves us anyway, right?

And he loves the whole world too. He wants to give the world the gift of “liberty,” whether they like it or not. And if they don’t like it, he’ll make them learn to like it. He’ll school them by killing, maiming, and torturing all who resist. That’s the kind of “liberty” he wants the world to have. He loves the world just that much.

He wants to “expand the circle of liberty” for us here at home as well. Why then does his expanding “circle of liberty” feel more like a tightening noose?

During the Republican National Convention, for example, New Yorkers were swept up and off the streets in mass arrests merely for voicing their dissent from Bush administration policies, or for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Though not charged with any crime, thousands were summarily “detained.” At the very moment Bush spoke of expanding our “circle of liberty,” these innocent New Yorkers languished in a makeshift prison some christened “Guantanamo on the Hudson.”

In truth, the real Guantanamo probably has more creature comforts. This hellhole on the Hudson was formerly an abandoned and dilapidated old bus depot. Its innards are laden with seventy years worth of lingering residues from toxic contaminants, including asbestos. The New Yorkers corralled therein were given neither chairs to sit on nor beds to sleep in. So, when they needed to get off their feet, their only option was to sit and even sleep in the toxic crud that had long ago settled on its oil-stained concrete floor.

An ex-NYPD officer intimately familiar with this dump said he wouldn’t pen stray dogs in such a place, much less human beings. George W. Bush and the City of New York, on the other hand, not only would, but did.

In this way, residents of New York City, though they had violated no law and committed no crime, experienced George W. Bush’s expanding “circle of liberty” first hand. For some, it took a very concrete form, as expanding circles, not of liberty, but of skin rash, induced by the prolonged toxic exposure they were forced to endure.

But we know George W. Bush loves us anyway. He made this obvious when, at the emotional climax of his speech, while reflecting upon the families of the fallen and the wounded soldiers he’s comforted, his eyes moistened, his lip quivered, and his voice nearly broke.

Never mind the fact that the evidence does not support his administration’s official 9-11 fable. And never mind that a Zogby poll recently found nearly half of all New Yorkers presently believe that 9-11 was an inside job perpetrated with the foreknowledge and complicity of the very man whose moist eyes, quivering lip, and quavering voice made you feel as if he actually loved every single surviving family member of the men, women, and children his administration so cynically sacrificed to gain the pretext it needed to wage endless war.

And never mind that the war which took the leg of that brave soldier Bush jogged with we now know was needless folly, based as it was on a mountain of lies, each one shamelessly told by the very same man whose moist eyes, quivering lip, and quavering voice made you feel as if he loved every single soldier his administration so callously conned into paying the ultimate price without good cause.

Facts are irrelevant for many, it seems. Feigned feelings are all that matter. And Bush’s feigned feelings Thursday night just screamed, “I love you all!”

The GOP delegates in the Garden certainly felt the love. They were mesmerized by the president’s performance and gazed upon him with adoration, as if they truly believed him to be their loving savior. Even the savior of the world, apparently, for the band struck up and sang “all you need is love to make the world a better place” as the president gloried in their adulation, and the balloons dropped.

Yes, indeed, George W. Bush loves us. And he loves the world. He literally loves us and it to death.

We’ve all seen this kind of “love” before. Its most memorable dramatic depiction was in the movie Fatal Attraction. It’s the sort of “love” Glenn Close’s character, Alex Forrest, passionately felt for Dan Gallagher, the character played by Michael Douglas.

Lovers who “love” like this may think it love, they may even call it love, but the unfortunate objects of their deranged affections know better. They know such “love” is merely love of self masquerading as love for another. It's the kind of “love” that allows the ones they “love” no other choice but to love them in return at least as much as they love themselves. It matters not to them that a love not freely given is really no love at all, for real love is not what they truly seek. What they seek, like some demon from hell, is possession. Their super-self-concentrated ego is a black hole that annihilates everything it gets close to, even the fundamental personhood and autonomy of the ones they can only pretend to love.

Needless to say, spurning the unwanted affections of such a “lover” can sometimes be dangerous, for murder is but one small step removed from objectification. Mere things may be casually discarded, after all, once they are deemed no longer desirable.

This is exactly the kind of “love” Iraqis are receiving from George W. Bush as we speak. So are Afghanis. The protesters who dared to raise their voices during Bush’s acceptance speech got a small taste of it also, as did the innocent New Yorkers swept up indiscriminately and cast for days into a noxious, toxic cesspool.

It would be far better to remain unloved than to be “loved” like this.

In the movie Fatal Attraction, Alex Forrest, no matter how hard she tried, could not force Dan Gallagher to love her. She could not make him her possession. She got a dagger through the heart instead.

If George W. Bush’s administration gets another four years to stalk the world like Alex Forrest stalked Dan Gallagher, will America’s fate be any different?

On the Eve of War, Bush Made the Case for U.S. Regime Change

If the charges President Bush made against Saddam Hussein in his speech to the nation on the eve of our invasion of Iraq were true, and such acts justified a forced regime change in Iraq, then George W. Bush's regime stands just as guilty on all counts, and ought to be changed as well.

Let's consider the president's charges against Hussein one by one:

"The Iraqi regime has used diplomacy as a ploy to gain time and advantage."

No regime has more cynically used diplomacy as "a ploy to gain time and advantage" than the Bush regime. It is now obvious that from the beginning no diplomatic solution, no matter how many concessions Iraq might have made, could have diverted the Bush regime from war. The Bush regime was hell-bent for a war of conquest against Iraq come what may. It's pre-invasion diplomatic maneuverings were but a sideshow designed to distract from and give diplomatic cover to the Bush regime’s build up an army of invasion in the Gulf.

"It has uniformly defied Security Council resolutions demanding full disarmament."

The Bush regime itself defied the will of the UN Security Council. Having failed to gain a majority of nations on the Security Council to approve of their naked aggression, they went ahead with it anyway, brazenly spitting in the face of an outraged world.

"Over the years, U.N. weapon inspectors have been threatened by Iraqi officials, electronically bugged, and systematically deceived."

In their desperate attempts to obtain a UN Security Council majority to sanction their naked aggression against Iraq, the Bush regime "electronically bugged, threatened, and systematically deceived" UN officials.

A leaked internal National Security Agency memo revealed a Bush-regime-backed plot to intensively electronically spy on UN diplomats representing countries on the Security Council. The Bush regime's intent was to discover information they could use to compromise key UN diplomats, to "persuade" them to side with the Bush regime.

When it comes to deception, none was more brazenly (and incompetently) deceptive than the Bush regime.

Secretary of State Powell tried but failed to pass off to the UN Security Council plagiarized ten year old college dissertations and magazine articles as first rate American intelligence "proving" a link between Iraq and Al Qaeda.

Powell also claimed at the UN that mere facilities for the production of hydrogen gas to fill artillery balloons – facilities actually sold to Iraq by the British government -- were “mobile biological weapons labs!”

Later, documents produced by US intelligence agencies and provided to the UN purporting to "prove" that Hussein attempted to procure uranium from Niger were, upon closer inspection, discovered to be "obvious forgeries.”

"Peaceful efforts to disarm the Iraqi regime have failed again and again -- because we are not dealing with peaceful men."

Peaceful efforts to avert the Bush regime's naked aggression against Iraq by the nations of the world have "failed again and again because -- [they] were not dealing with peaceful men."

"Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised."

No regime possesses and conceals more lethal and cutting edge weapons of mass destruction than the Bush regime. Even worse, they are hell-bent to test their toys on other nations, based on the flimsiest of pretexts.

For example, since the end of the Cold War, the Bush-Clinton-Bush regime has poisoned Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, and Iraq (and our own troops there) with thousands of tons of expended depleted uranium munitions.

"This regime has already used weapons of mass destruction against Iraq's neighbors and against Iraq's people."

The Bush-Clinton-Bush regime has already used weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Yugoslavia, and Afghanistan. And George W. Bush used WMD’s against the people of Iraq in concentrations designed to "shock and awe" them into submission.

"The regime has a history of reckless aggression in the Middle East."

No regime has a history more replete with reckless aggressions in the Middle East than Bush's own. What else is Bush’s Iraq war but "reckless aggression?” What else was the twelve year continuous bombing campaign against Iraq which preceded it? What else was the cruise missile attack that leveled a pharmaceutical factory in Sudan? What else is the quasi-permanent stationing of US troops in Saudi Arabia? What else was the US's arming, advising, and supply of Hussein during the Iran/Iraq War? What else was the many CIA sponsored internal subversions and coups designed to install into power lackeys and thugs who'd do the US regime's bidding?

"It has a deep hatred of America and our friends."

If "deep hatred of America" is manifested by open contempt for her Constitution and Bill of Rights, for the freedoms and rights Americans have historically enjoyed, and for America's historical role as international good guy and upholder of international humanitarian norms like the Genonva conventions, no one has demonstrated a deeper hatred of America than the Bush administration itself.

As for hating our friends, the Bush administration has vilified France and contemptuously dismissed Germany as "Old Europe."

"And it has aided, trained and harbored terrorists, including operatives of al Qaeda."

No regime has aided, trained, and harbored more terrorists, including operatives of al Qaeda, than Bush's regime.

In fact, al Qaeda itself was a CIA-backed creation. Its original purpose was to undermine the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan.

Unfortunately, it didn't stop there. The CIA utilized al Qaeda again in their covert efforts to subvert the Balkans. Bin Ladin's crew provided a key arms and drugs supply line from their Taliban-backed bases in Afghanistan to the CIA-backed Kosovo Liberation Army. As recently as 1998, al Qaeda continued to be a key Spook asset of the United States government.

"The danger is clear: using chemical, biological or, one day, nuclear weapons, obtained with the help of Iraq, the terrorists could fulfill their stated ambitions and kill thousands or hundreds of thousands of innocent people in our country, or any other."

So, to prevent this extremely hypothetical (and unlikely) scenario, the Bush regime is killing “thousands or hundreds of thousands of innocent people" – Americans and Iraqis -- NOW!

"The United States and other nations did nothing to deserve or invite this threat."

Iraq did absolutely nothing to deserve or invite conquest by the United States. On the other hand, when the Bush regime set out to commit an unprovoked naked aggression against another sovereign nation, it deserves and invites a defensive response.

"Instead of drifting along toward tragedy, we will set a course toward safety."

"Safety" = an unprovoked, life-extinguishing, "shock and awe"-inducing, meat-grinding war of conquest? Calling George Orwell!

"Before the day of horror can come, before it is too late to act, this danger will be removed."

The greatest danger to world peace at this moment is the Bush regime itself.

"The United States of America has the sovereign authority to use force in assuring its own national security."

Then why doesn't Iraq have this same right?

"That duty falls to me, as Commander-in-Chief, by the oath I have sworn, by the oath I will keep."

The Constitution Bush swore an oath to defend says that only Congress (not the president) has the sole power to declare war. By waging an undeclared, unconstitutional, and unprovoked war, Bush has brazenly violated his oath of office.

"Recognizing the threat to our country, the United States Congress voted overwhelmingly last year to support the use of force against Iraq."

No it didn't. It authorized action against terrorists involved in the 9-11 attacks. It did not authorize war with Iraq, a nation which has no known link with al Qaeda or 9-11.

"America tried to work with the United Nations to address this threat because we wanted to resolve the issue peacefully."

Yet another lie. The Bush regime obviously had no intent to ever resolve its disputes with Iraq peacefully.

"We believe in the mission of the United Nations."

But only so long as it rubber stamps the Bush regime's planned conquests.

"One reason the U.N. was founded after the Second World War was to confront aggressive dictators, actively and early, before they can attack the innocent and destroy the peace."

And the U.N. did "confront an aggressive dictator, before he could attack the innocent and destroy the peace." But, Bush was determined to attack another sovereign nation without just provocation anyway.

"In the case of Iraq, the Security Council did act, in the early 1990s. Under Resolutions 678 and 687 -- both still in effect -- the United States and our allies are authorized to use force in ridding Iraq of weapons of mass destruction."

On the contrary, the Security Council explicitly refused to authorize or endorse Bush's naked aggression against Iraq.

"Many Iraqis can hear me tonight in a translated radio broadcast, and I have a message for them. If we must begin a military campaign, it will be directed against the lawless men who rule your country and not against you."

The Bush regime is the very model of "lawless men who rule [their] country". They have systematically violated the Constitution since 9-11, from the staged 9-11 faux-terror event itself, through the misnamed USA Patriot Act, to the ongoing congressionally-undeclared war against Iraq.

"In a free Iraq, there will be no more wars of aggression against your neighbors…"

But in a so-called "free" America, there WILL be wars of aggression against any nation the Bush regime sees fit to attack, destroy, and conquer!

"...no more poison factories..."

Instead, a Bush-regime-installed puppet government will buy all they need from American defense contractors, just like Hussein did during the Iran/Iraq War.

"...no more executions of dissidents..."

The Bush regime announced shortly before the war began that peaceful anti-war protesters who trespass onto Vandenberg Air Force Base will, henceforth, be shot on sight.

"...no more torture chambers and rape rooms."

The Bush regime has, contrary to American custom and law, embraced torture as a viable and even necessary law enforcement tool. The unspeakable horrors of Abu Ghraib and Camp Delta, Guantanamo Bay confirm the Bush regime’s callous inhumanity, utter lawlessness, and base criminality.

"The tyrant will soon be gone."

And a new American tyrant (namely, Bush) shall take his place.

"Free nations have a duty to defend our people by uniting against the violent."

No regime is more violent at this moment than Bush's own.

And there you have it.

Clearly, the Bush regime is little more than monstrous hypocrisy backed by deadly force. If its charges against Iraq justify a regime change by conquest there, then the Bush regime stands equally guilty and worthy of regime change here.

The only difference between the two is this: the Bush regime is, in fact, bristling with weapons of mass destruction, rendering its regime extremely difficult to change, while Hussein's, after twelve years of perpetual bombing and economic sanctions, was but a toothless tiger by comparison.

Don't Waste Your Vote

“Don’t waste your vote!”

That’s the mantra invoked every presidential election cycle by braying jackasses or stampeding pachyderms to persuade more enlightened political animals to hold their nose and stick with them rather than vote for sounder, more principled, and far less corrupted third party candidates.

Their mantra not so subtly implies that:

Unless one has a reasonable expectation that one’s most favored candidate can actually win, all votes for said candidate are wasted, and
Since Democrats or Republicans have won in that past, it’s reasonable to expect them to just keep on winning, so votes for them are never wasted.

But is this really true?

Not at all! In fact, given the way we elect our presidents, tens of millions of presidential votes cast for the Democrat or Republican candidate each election cycle are totally “wasted” in this sense: they have absolutely no effect on the ultimate outcome of the presidential race.

If you know our Constitution, then you also know why this is so. It’s because our presidents are not elected by popular vote, but by electoral votes awarded by state on a winner-take-all basis.

This means that only those popular votes determinative of the winner of each state’s electoral votes actually affect the outcome of the national presidential race. Obviously, then, popular votes are never wasted if cast either for the overwhelming winner of a statewide race or for both major party candidates in states where the statewide race between them is close enough to tip either way. But popular votes are always wasted when cast for the losing major party candidate in states where the winner wins the statewide race by an overwhelming un-closable margin. This is so because the losing major party candidate is awarded ZERO electoral votes from that state regardless and, in presidential elections, electoral votes, not popular votes, are the only votes that ever really count.

Therefore, in states which are overwhelmingly pro-Republican at the presidential level, every vote cast for the Democrat candidate is a wasted vote. The same is true for every vote cast for the Republican candidate in states which are overwhelmingly pro-Democrat at the presidential level.

For example, in the 2000 presidential race, sixteen states were overwhelmingly pro-Republican – Alabama, Alaska, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. In each of these sixteen states, Bush defeated Gore by a margin of 10% or more. Therefore, in these overwhelmingly pro-Republican states, there was no chance for Democrat Gore to ever win any of these states’ electoral votes. Hence, all the votes cast for Gore in these sixteen states – 7,930,843 in all or 15.55% of the total votes cast for Gore nationwide – were totally wasted votes!

On the opposite side of the major party divide in the 2000 presidential race, nine states or territories were overwhelmingly pro-Democrat – Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont. In each of these nine states or territories, Gore beat Bush by a margin of 10% or more. Therefore, in these overwhelmingly pro-Democrat states, there was no chance for Republican Bush to ever win any of these states’ or territories’ electoral votes. Hence, all the votes cast for Bush in these nine states or territories – 5,200,303 in all or 10.31% of the total votes cast for Bush nationwide – were likewise totally wasted votes!

So, because of the way electoral votes are awarded, a grand total of 13,131,146 votes cast for Bush or Gore in 2000 had absolutely no impact on the outcome of that election! That means that 12.46% of all the votes cast in the 2000 presidential race were totally wasted votes! The electoral vote count that decides who our next president will be would have been exactly the same in the end no matter how these thirteen million plus votes were cast.

Do you know what that means? These thirteen million plus wasted major party votes could have been cast for third party candidates instead without affecting in the slightest degree the ultimate outcome of the presidential race!

This fact is especially important for voters who are otherwise inclined to vote third party but don’t for fear that, if they do, the greater of the two major party evils will win. Third-party-leaning left-wingers, if you live in an overwhelmingly pro-Republican state, you can vote for the third party presidential candidate of your choice without risking a victory for the Republicans! Likewise, third-party-leaning right-wingers, if you live in an overwhelmingly pro-Democrat state, you too can vote for the third party candidate of your choice without risking a victory for the Democrats!

If these totally wasted presidential votes for the two major party candidates were cast for third party candidates instead, third party alternatives could be built up and made more politically viable without risking the election of an ultimate major party evil, whomever voters might regard that ultimate evil to be!

For example, had the aforementioned 7,930,843 wasted votes for Gore in 2000 been cast for, say, Ralph Nader instead, Nader’s Green Party would have received 10,813,798 votes or 10.26% of the total votes cast. That would have far exceeded the 5% threshold required to qualify the Green Party for a share of the federal presidential campaign matching funds distributed this election cycle!

Likewise, had the aforementioned 5,200,303 wasted votes for Bush in 2000 been cast for, say, Pat Buchanan instead, Buchanan’s Reform Party would have received 5,649,198 votes or 5.35% of the total votes cast. That would have just exceeded the 5% threshold required to qualify the Reform Party once again for a share of the federal presidential campaign matching funds distributed each election cycle!

So, at a bare minimum, by shifting these otherwise wasted major party votes, two third parties, one on the left and the other on the right, could have been lifted up off the mat and made more viable as political competitors with the two major parties.

But there is an even more intriguing possibility: if the anti-globalist, anti-war, pro-Bill-of-Right left and the anti-globalist, anti-war, pro-Bill-of-Rights right could ever put aside their differences on lesser issues and unite behind a single anti-globalist, anti-war, pro-Bill-of-Rights third party ticket, something roughly akin to a hypothetical Nader-Buchanan or Buchanan-Nader ticket in 2000, the wasted votes for Bush and Gore that year combined with all the other third party votes would have given this hypothetical united third party front 17,080,347 total votes or 16.2% of the overall votes cast. That’s within striking distance (less than ten percentage points away) of the 25% threshold needed to attain equal major party status and funding with the Democrats and Republicans!

So, if you’re a third-party-leaning, anti-globalist, anti-war, pro-Bill-of-Rights left-winger in an overwhelmingly Republican state, or a third-party-leaning, anti-globalist, anti-war, pro-Bill-of-Rights right-winger in an overwhelmingly Democrat state, don’t waste your presidential vote by voting for the lesser of two globalist, pro-war, Bill-of-Rights-gutting evils. Instead, help build up for this nation a viable anti-globalist, anti-war, pro-Bill-of-Rights third party alternative at the presidential level. Send a powerful message to both major parties that their current support for globalism, undeclared wars of imperial conquest abroad, and police-state tyranny here at home is simply not acceptable. Vote for the third party candidate of your choice.

Contrary to the false implications of the major parties’ “don’t waste your vote” mantra, voting for your most favored presidential candidate of whatever party is never a waste, but merely voting for the lesser of two major party evils often is, especially in states where the worst evil is likely to win all of that states’ electoral votes regardless. So, in these states especially, don’t waste your vote. Vote third party instead. You have absolutely nothing to lose by doing so, and everything to gain.

Finesse or Force - Which Will They Choose?

For America’s black-box-voting public, the upcoming election is framed as a “choice” between two blue-blooded Bonesman bookends, John Forbes Kerry and his cousin, George Walker Bush.

But for the globalist elites who stand behind both Kerry and Bush, the choice is shaping up to be a very real and momentous one indeed. For in choosing between Kerry and Bush, they also choose which tactic -- finesse or force -- will give them their best chance to perfect their consolidation of power over our people and our planet.

Over the course of the last century, at least here in America, their favored tactic has been finesse. Finesse means that traditional forms are maintained even as their substance is gradually eaten away by subterfuge and deceit from within.

In the American context, the forms of republican (small r) governance – our Constitution and Bill of Rights, regular elections, rival parties, rival branches, rival sovereignties, and an unfettered press – have all been maintained, but after nearly one hundred years of globalist finesse, of systematic subversion from within, their substance has been all but eaten away.

Our Constitution and Bill of Rights remain enshrined in a nuclear-bomb-proofed crypt on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC, but few who govern us at either end of that broad concourse bother to abide by its strictures anymore.

Elections happen like clockwork, but they’re illusory since our votes either aren’t really counted (thanks to black box electronic voting) or have long been rendered irrelevant by the fact that the two major parties share the same enforced globalist consensus at the top, where all the policies that really matter are made.

The federal government retains its triumvirate of branches, but the hoped for checks and balances are gone. The legislative and judicial now function more like kept eunuchs in the court of an executive that’s increasingly imperious, utterly Byzantine, shrouded in secrecy, and backed by deadly force.

State governments continue, but by Supreme Court edict or other federal imposition, they can’t legislate for long outside the bounds of the enforced globalist policy consensus that emanates from the center.

And today, our press mediates via innumerable outlets, by a thousand talking heads and scribes, but almost all of them are owned or employed by only a handful of corporate moguls, conglomerates, and press syndicates. An unfettered press? Hardly.

So the globalists have been remarkably successful in finessing us towards globe-wide tyranny over the last century or more. Obviously, then, they should just stay the course, right?

Indeed they may. And if they do, in the election upcoming we’ll be treated once again to the appearance of choice and change without the substance of it. John Forbes Kerry will soundly defeat his cousin, George Walker Bush. And all the voters who rightly loathe Bush and all that he stands for shall have their release. Political pressures built up will decompress and the system will appear to self-correct without really self-correcting at all. Kerry will keep on finessing away our freedom just as Bush did, only perhaps with a bit more subtlety and guile.

There’s just one problem with staying the course, however: we, the American people, more and more, are on to them.

Thanks to alternative media and the power of the internet, the fraudulent mass psychological operation that was 9-11 has been exposed along with the Bush administration’s complicity in it. But the Bush administration is not alone in their nakedness. The entire establishment, be they Republican or Democrat, mainstream media elite or military brass, all share in the shame of it, for their knowing silence in the face of the administration’s flimsy post-9-11 confabulations and cover-ups, if for nothing else.

With the 9-11 faux-terror event, the rights-destroying “war on terror” it spawned, and the disastrous attempted conquests of Iraq and Afghanistan it continues to give political cover to, the globalists, historically masters of the finesse, have instead fumbled and fumbled badly. As a result, millions of Americans have awoken to their perverse manipulations, so much so that an increasing number of us are simply no longer finesse-able. And that number is growing each and every day.

The present regime is now viewed by a rising multitude as hopelessly illegitimate – even criminal --and a mere exchange of Bonesmen at the top won’t change that.

Hence, the globalists’ dilemma. Finesse, usually their safest and surest course, is no longer quite so sure or safe. Given the post 9-11 great awakening, so subtle a course might just give the growing anti-globalist backlash the breathing room it needs to achieve critical mass.

Might the globalists then be tempted to abandon the subtleties of finesse in favor of force? Might they conclude that it’s high time they wielded the considerable power they’ve already accumulated by stealth to openly crush all remaining centers of possible resistance before it can combine in numbers sufficient to check or even end their malicious misrule?

There are disturbing signals that this may indeed be the case.

For example, suddenly the controlled media is openly exposing to we, the unwashed masses, elite power centers it formerly pretended did not even exist.

CBS’ 60 Minutes aired a segment outing the Order of Skull and Bones. Tim Russert quizzed both Kerry and Bush on NBC's Meet the Press about their shared membership in the secret Order and its implications for the upcoming race and the presidency. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger was initially tapped to become California’s next governor by the grandees who pay cultic homage each summer to a forty-five foot stone owl at The Order’s west coast conclave, Bohemian Grove. And the gray lady herself, the New York Times, recently broke her fifty year silence on the annual Bilderburg conference by revealing that John Edwards was first selected to be Kerry’s running mate by its attendees weeks before Bonesman Kerry announced Edward’s selection as his own to a largely unsuspecting American public.

Why this sudden transparency? Why the open acknowledgment of potentially political-paradigm-shifting realities once ignored or denied? There are two possibilities:

It could be a modified limited hangout spun to bolster the collapsing credibility of the controlled media in the wake of the post 9-11 great awakening. If so, finesse will likely remain the globalists’ preferred tactic, and Kerry will be the winner come November.

On the other hand, it could be an early sign that finesse as a tactic has been rejected in favor of in-your-face, out-in-the-open elitist tyranny. If so, look for Bush to be selected again despite widespread and deep public revulsion towards him and his policies. But, unlike 2000, this time his selection will not be by Supreme Court fiat. Rather, the spook-subverted front companies that author the secret proprietary source code controlling our brand new black-box electronic voting machines will now do the selecting for us. Of course, the controlled media will try to convince us that we actually voted the way the black-box electronic voting machines say we voted, but we’ll know better. They might even attribute the shocking but decisive eleventh hour apparent vote-swing towards Bush to the pre-election faux-terror event the terror-scare-mongers around Bush are telling us is sure to happen. However they try and spin it, if the globalists choose now to unsheathe an iron fist from their heretofore velvet glove, Bush will be reselected, but not by the American people.

Such a brazen subversion of our democratic processes will no doubt signal the beginning of even darker days to come, for a reselected Bush administration, even more lacking in legitimacy than before and almost certain, therefore, to be almost universally reviled by the American people, is likely to misgovern us even more tyrannically than before. It might even be ruthlessly draconian in its tyranny and oppressions, since Bush’s very reselection by such illicit means will signal a seismic shift in globalist methodology.

Either way, be it finesse or force, Kerry or Bush, obviously we, the American people, will take it once again in the teeth.

In the short run, that is.

In the long run, however, no matter which tactic the globalists choose, the post-9-11 great awakening shall continue, steadily if they continue to finesse us, like wildfire if they dare to force us, but either way eventually it will reach critical mass. And when it does, the globalists’ great game will be up. They will lose it and lose it utterly.

It’s not a question of if, only when.

George W. Bush: The Anti-Reagan

I've been struck during the remembrances and retrospectives of the life and presidency of Ronald Reagan by the stark contrast between his manner of governance and that of our current president.

George W. Bush claims a direct political lineage from Reagan but, in truth, his administration bears not the slightest resemblance to its far more popular predecessor.

Consider, for example, Reagan's own final summing up of his life and presidency:

“Whatever else history may say about me when I’m gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears; to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty’s lamp guiding your steps and opportunity’s arm steadying your way.”

Reagan indeed appealed to our best hopes.

Though faced with the very real and formidable threat of the Soviet Union and communism, he did not seek safety in police state tyranny at home or preemptive wars of imperial aggression abroad.

That was the Soviet's way. Not ours.

No, instead, he understood that the greatest weapon in our arsenal was freedom itself, not the false security of totalitarian tyranny or empire. And he wielded that weapon, both in stirring word and undaunted deed, with great effect. He defeated communism not by the "shock and awe" of indiscriminate munitions-inflicted murder, nor by the systematic dehumanization of suspected communists in cruel torture camps, but by holding forth the best of the American character and the universal value of real -- as opposed to merely rhetorical -- freedom. He relit our lamp of liberty, and in so doing, he made us better than we were and almost as good as we should be. Consequently, the whole world came to believe in the promise of freedom again. We Americans did too.

George W. Bush, on the other hand, appeals only to our worst fears.

Though faced with a relatively impotent and pathetic threat of stateless "terror", he demands that we forfeit our sacred birthright -- our Bill of Rights and Constitution -- even freedom itself, all to attain a false security against an equally false threat.

George W. Bush's "security" is the false security of the slave. George W. Bush's "freedom" is only the freedom of a would-be globe-wide dictator to act with utter impunity and to the detriment of mankind. And yet, he claims his lawless usurpations are in the defense of freedom for all. He even claims to be the heir to the mantle of Reagan.

What a farce!

The whole world knows better. And we Americans ought to as well.

Ronald Reagan renewed our confidence because he understood that freedom was our greatest strength and the only true source of ultimate security.

George W. Bush, on the other hand, now sows for us (and the world) the gravest of doubts because he wrongly thinks freedom's an unacceptable security risk in his mad globe-wide "war on terror".

Under Reagan, we were made ever freer even as we faced down and defeated freedom's greatest foe.

But under Bush, we are made ever more servile and enslaved in the face of freedom's lamest faux.

And so, George W. Bush is the anti-Reagan.

It shouldn't surprise us, then, that Bush's America is now closer in spirit to the Soviet Union Reagan faced down than the proud, victorious, and free nation Reagan led.

In a mere twenty years, a complete and total inversion has taken place.

Under Bush, America has become a new EVIL EMPIRE.

But we can become Reagan's America again. All that we need do is resolve to be free once again. And believe again, as Reagan did, that our birthright of freedom, far from being a cause for insecurity, has ever been and ever shall be the source of our ultimate security and our greatest strength.

Only then will we stand victorious against all the foes of freedom -- even the George W. Bush administration itself.

It Is As It Wasn't - My Take On The Passion of the Christ

I just got back from viewing The Passion of the Christ.

I was under whelmed, to say the least.

On the positive side, I very much enjoyed listening to spoken Aramaic. That much of the movie rang true to the times. Unfortunately, not much else did.

Mel took liberties with the scriptures. Some of these liberties could very well be construed as anti-Semitic.

Among the most glaring (and disturbing) to me (and I'm surprised that none of the many reviewers I've read have commented on this) is the scene where Judas is approached by a cute, curly-headed Jewish boy who then morphs into an accusing demonic figure and is subsequently joined by other curly-headed Jewish kids, likewise morphed into demonic figures, who then all join together like a pack of hyenas to hound Judas to his self-inflicted death.

Curly-headed at-first-cherubic-then-demonic Jewish kids used to give a visual for the internal demons hounding Judas into commiting suicide? There's nothing very anti-Semitic about that, now, is there? < /sarcasm >

That scene was just wrong on so many levels. But it wasn't the only one.

Inaccuracies and a general obliviousness to the Torah-steeped world of the Jews he was trying to depict are evident throughout. Some are quite jarring, at least to me. Here's a short list:

Satan speaking words to Jesus in the garden. It never happened. According to the gospel accounts, there was indeed an angel present with Jesus in the garden, but it was an angel of God there to give Jesus strength; it was not Satan.
Jesus crushing the snake sent out to him by Satan. Nice metaphor, but it never actually happened.
A general melee between the disciples, Jesus, and the Temple guards. This never happened either. Only Peter lashed out. No other disciple did, for Jesus rebuked them quickly. Only the servant Melchus was struck. No other blows were exchanged. In fact, the scriptures tell us that, when Jesus formally identified himself, the delegation from the High Priest "drew back and fell to the ground". But such evidence of inner-conflicted-ness about their mission and demonstrated awe and respect towards Jesus would not have been consistent with Mel's preferred depiction of the Jewish Temple guards as a bunch of frenzied, sadistic apes. Is that why Mel omitted it?
Jesus' subsequent beating by the Temple guards and his "bungee jump" from the bridge (only with chains instead of a bungee cord). Not only did it never happen, but this scene is an over-the-top only-in-Hollywood howler. Again it portrays the Jewish Temple delegation as a bunch of frenzied, sadistic apes. Anti-Semitic, much? You bet, especially since, according to the Gospels, Jesus was not struck by a Temple guard until AFTER he was sentenced to death for blasphemy by the Sanhedrin. Big difference, don’t you think? And so begins a disturbing trend that continues throughout the movie: Mel takes Jesus' afflictions way beyond what is recorded, as if what really happened was insufficient for atonement. Maybe it's a Catholic thing to think that Jesus' sufferings on the way to the cross had to be something unusually callous and cruel. Just your everyday, run of the mill callousness and cruelty won't do, apparently. So, Mel embellishes. Much. And in so doing, makes a mockery of the real, live, flesh and blood, historical event.
Peter beset by a frenzied mob denies Jesus thrice. Only it didn't happen that way. Peter was not beset by a frenzied mob. His first two denials were in response to the quiet queries of a servant girl; his third, in response to a query by an unnamed man. Peter was at no time in any immediate physical danger. No howling mob extracted his denials by intimidation, as Mel depicted. Peter in reality had far less cause to deny Jesus, which made his denials all the more soul-searing. And they didn't happen in rapid succession, but were separated by spans of time. So, why did Mel take such liberties with scripture? One can only conclude that it was to continue his characterization of non-or-not-yet-believing Jews as frenzied mobs out for innocent blood.
The Sanhedrin as emotional lynch mob. That's the way Mel depicted it. But it just doesn't ring true to me. These were learned men. The elites of their society. Mobs act like mobs out of insecurity. But these men were nothing if not secure. They had all the power in their world and they intended to keep it. Moreover, they were well-practiced in the exercise of it. We know how powerful and learned men behave when exercising their authority. They rarely raise their voices. There's no need to, especially to mere subjects. A cool, confident, and calculating calm would to me seem their more likely posture. Unflappable. In total control. Exuding their authority. And I have no doubt that many in that assembly were pious men who genuinely thought Jesus guilty of blasphemy and who condemned him with the purest of motives, believing they were acting in defense of their people and their Torah as they understood it, as well as in defense of their own personal power and privilege. That's why Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." But such a complex, multi-diminsional portrayal wouldn't provide for yet another cartoonishly evil caricature of Jews, now, would it?
Pilate's wife, the believer. Nowhere in the gospels is Pilate's wife said to be a believer. All we know of her is that she cautioned her husband "Don't have anything to do with that innocent man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him." That's it. It is extremely unlikely that the wife of a Roman Governor would have been a follower of Jesus at that point in time -- before his crucifixion, before his resurrection, before his ascension, and before the pouring out of the Spirit on Pentacost. The first Gentile believer is revealed in Acts to be Cornelius, and he was accepted by Peter into the fold a good ten years after the events of this movie. It was not Claudia, the wife of Pilate. Moreover, had she truly been a believer at that time, she wouldn't have told her husband what she did, for had he followed her advice, Jesus would not have fulfilled all that had been prophesied of him.
More frenzied, sadistic apes, but this time, dressed up as Romans. It would seem that to Mel, it is not evil enough merely to do an evil deed; one must also be cartoonishly over-the-top evil in the doing of it. So, we have the Roman goons, not so different from the Jewish Temple guard goons, more like rabid monkeys than men, taking great delight in flogging and then flaying Jesus with a cat-o-nine-tails into a bloody pulp. But such cartoonish buffoonery is not an evil one can take very seriously. It's not real. It's entirely too one-diminsional. Real human beings are far more complex than that. And, yes, even the Roman soldiers enforcing the edicts of their Governor were real human beings. How much more chilling would it have been had they been portrayed more like what they were: ruthlessly efficient military professionals just routinely following orders, doing their daily duty to maintain order within an empire, like an ancient version of the American troops presently attempting the same hard job in Iraq? That would have had a much more powerful resonance. The cackling cartoonish monkeys wielding the whip in Mel's movie are mere caricatures of evil in comparison.
The flogging and flaying of Jesus into a bloody pulp. Did this really happen? All the Gospels say is: "Pilate took Jesus and had him flogged." That's it. Whipping Jesus into a blood-spattered pulp of scarred flesh -- front, back, and sides, looking more like 180 pounds of ground up hamburger meat than the still living body of a man -- that was Mel's idea. Did it happen that way? Is it even physically possible? Could a man survive long enough to make it to the cross after such a scourging? I seriously doubt it.
Pilate's wife giving Mary the first century version of a roll of Bounty paper towels. It never happened.
Mary soaking up Jesus' blood pooled and splattered all around the flogging post (so much blood, it's a wonder Jesus had any blood left). This never happened either. The fetishism regarding Jesus’ blood imputed to Mary in this scene must be a Catholic thing. I seriously doubt that Mary, Torah-obedient Jew that she was, would have engaged in such weirdness. There’s certainly no record of it (or even a hint of it) in the Gospels.
Jesus carries a full-blown crucifix-style cross (ahistorical, but oh-so-affirming of the Catholic crucifix archetype), while the two thieves carry only the cross piece (historical). At least Mel got it two-thirds right. But that only made the blunder of Jesus' crucifix-style cross-carrying stand out all the more.
Jesus whipped and beaten some more (by the same frenzied, sadistic apes that whipped him before) while carrying the cross to Golgotha. There's no mention of this in the Gospels, but what does that matter? This is art, right? < /sarcasm >
Flashback to Jesus as carpenter sharing a laugh with his mother, Mary. It's not scriptural either, but unscriptural depictions of a mother and her son in a light-hearted moment are a much welcome break from unscriptural depictions of sadistic gore.
An unknown women wipes Jesus' bloodied face and offers him water, which the apes naturally knock away before he can drink it. No mention of this in scripture either, but it sure makes for good drama. I can't get enough of frenzied, sadistic apes acting all frenzied and sadistic, can you?
Flashback to the Last Supper, where Jesus and disciples are shown supping on LEAVENED (looks like pita) bread. No Torah-keeping Jew would touch that bread with a ten foot pole during Passover week. Jesus and his disciples, Torah-keeping Jews that they were, certainly didn't...and wouldn't.
Holding fast to uninformed notions from the Middle Ages, as opposed to evidence from archeology and history, Mel nails Jesus to the cross through the palms of his hands, instead of through the bones where the hand and wrist join, as it was actually done.
The Roman apes flip and drop a now cross-nailed Christ over, slamming his bloody pulp face-first into the dirt as they pound nails into his special full crucifix-style cross from the rear (for reasons known only to masochistic Mel). Then, for good measure, they flip and drop him back on his back. Needless to say, this never happened.
Three men crucified together by the Romans; one's a bloody pulp, but the other two hang there virtually unscathed! Where were the frenzied, sadistic Roman apes when the two thieves were being processed for crucifixion? On a coffee break? How come Jesus got such special treatment, flogging-wise and cross-wise? In Mel's Catholic vision, Jesus got a special crucifix-style cross different from the other two and he also got punished with much, much more cruelty and outright sadism than the other two. That's obviously because, to these Roman goons, Jesus was a special case, much more deserving of the maximum level of cruelty they could dish out than two Jewish thieves. Do you buy that? I don't.
The Roman apes rip Jesus' clothes to shreds. This expressly violates scripture. But, why follow scripture? It's much more dramatic the other way, right?
A crow lands on the unbelieving thief's cross and pecks his eye out while he's still alive. Yet more over-the-top unscriptural sadistic cruelty from masochistic Mel, only this time, instead of frenzied, sadistic apes in Jewish or Roman garb being the perpetrators, it’s implied that God himself is through the agency of an eye-pecking crow. This may be the most offensive scene in the movie because it impugns the very character of God by imputing to the divine the same kind of gratuitous sadism we've already seen way too much of at this point in Mel's movie. One can only wonder why Mel didn't direct the crow to peck out Jesus' eye too, since he rarely misses an opportunity to gratuitously add to his chastisements beyond what the scriptures themselves relate.
When a Roman ape pierces Jesus' side to confirm that he's dead, a veritable fountain of blood and water sprays out and all over all concerned, but all over the spear-wielding Roman goon especially. This was a very weird and unreal special effect. Even weirder, the Roman ape is suddenly and mystically transformed into a contemplative, reflective human being by this bizarre shower of bodily fluids. This must be another weird Catholic thing. But, need I add, it didn't happen like that. The scriptures do not imply ANYWHERE that some mystical transformative experience comes from being showered by Jesus' bodily fluids.
Not only was the veil of the temple rent when the earth shook (that misbegotten set was supposed to be the Temple built by Herod, right?) but it looked like the entire edifice was split asunder, so much so that chunks of rock were falling all about the Priest's heads. That didn't happen. Herod's Temple stood in all its glory for another 40 years. It was not destroyed (or even damaged) on the day Jesus was crucified.
Finally, the resurrection scene, featuring that naggingly ahistorical (and now special-effects enhanced) nail hole in the palm of his hand. Ugh. It's as flat a note to end this clinker on as any.

As a Christian, I value truth. And the truth is this movie of Mel's is not a true account of Christ's passion. Every time it deviates from the Gospels, not only is it not true, but it's often just plain weird. And, at times, it's anti-Semitic to boot.

That Christians generally have uncritically embraced this deeply flawed and sometimes disturbingly weird movie is indicative to me of a kind of desperation. Are we so needful of affirmation from the society at large that we'll embrace any cultural work that purports to be Christian no matter how fast and loose it plays with our most sacred texts? I was girded by a lifetime of study of these texts to reject what is false in this movie. But how many will come away from this film thinking it an accurate portrayal when it is not? How many will come away with an indelible image of Jewish children as demonic hounds of hell imprinted on their mind believing that that's actually in the Gospels? That that's what Christianity is all about?

It's no small thing to play fast and loose with the word of God. Unfortunately, Mel has done so. So now, it's up to every Christian to point this out and set the Gospel record straight.

Bush Once Again Misappropriated and Misapplied Scripture Last Night

George W. Bush has demonstrated a pattern in his speeches that points to something deeply disturbing in his personality and agenda for America and the world. He has repeatedly misappropriated scriptural or hymnal references to God or Christ and misapplied them out of context to himself, his agenda, or "America".

Well, he did it again tonight in his "Combat Operations in Iraq Have Ended" premature victory speech.

He concluded his speech by paraphrasing the following passage from Isaiah 61:1:

"...proclaim freedom to the captives...let out into light those bound in the dark.."

He implied that the prophet Isaiah's words described what he (and America) has just done in Iraq.

But that's not at all what Isaiah was talking about. We know this for a fact since this very same passage Christ himself read and interpreted in the synagogue at Nazareth (Luke 4:18-21). After he finished reading it aloud to all those in attendance, Christ said: "This day, as you heard it read, this passage in the Tanakh was fulfilled!"

The entire passage is profoundly Messianic and speaks of Christ's first advent. It reads in full:

"The Spirit of Adonai Elohim is upon me,
because Adonai has annointed me, [note: "Messiah" literally means "annointed one"]
to announce good news to the poor,
to proclaim freedom to the captives,
to let out into light those bound in the dark;
to proclaim the year of favor of Adonai..."

This is the passage Christ himself read and declared fulfilled THAT DAY because, he, the annointed one, the Messiah of whom it speaks, was among them THAT DAY doing all the things it foretold.

This passage was not about America.

This passage was not about our so-called "liberation" of Iraq.

This passage had absolutely nothing to do with military subjegation and conquest.

The freedom and light it referenced was far deeper and more profound than the pseudo-freedom and pseudo-light offered by pseudo-Messiah George W. Bush's damnable government.

And finally, this passage had nothing at all to do with psuedo-Messiah George W. Bush or his diabolical globalist agenda.

This passage, on the contrary, speaks of REAL salvation, the only salvation that can truly save mankind from the terrible consequences of the fall...

... NOT American military might...

... NOT federal largess stolen from millions of sorely burdened American taxpayers...

...and DEFINITELY NOT George W. Bush!

It referenced ONLY the person, work, and love of the God who made us all and His only begotten Son, who became like us that we might become like Him.

All else is diabolical deception and delusion.

All else is flimsy counterfeit.

All else is a death-dealing doom-filled trap.

And George W. Bush is presently this diabolical deception's foremost apostle.

Do not follow him.

Follow the man from Galilee instead.

Last Night, Bush Made the Case For US Regime Change

If the charges the President made against Saddam Hussein in his speech to the nation last night are true, and such acts justify a forced regime change in Iraq, then George W. Bush's regime stands just as guilty on all counts, and ought to be changed as well.

Let's consider the President's charges against Hussein one by one:

"The Iraqi regime has used diplomacy as a ploy to gain time and advantage."

No regime has more cynically used diplomacy as "a ploy to gain time and advantage" than the Bush regime. It is now obvious that from the beginning no diplomatic solution, no matter how many concessions Iraq might have made, could have diverted the Bush regime from war. Bush was hellbent for a war of conquest against Iraq come what may. All the diplomatic manueverings at the UN were strictly for the purpose of gaining some sort of diplomatic cover for the Bush regime's pre-planned naked aggression and the time needed to build up an army of invasion in the Gulf. While they failed utterly in gaining their hoped-for diplomatic cover, they certainly did gain the much-needed force build-up time.

"It has uniformly defied Security Council resolutions demanding full disarmament."

The Bush regime itself is presently defying the will of the UN Security Council. Having failed to gain a majority of nations on the Security Council to approve of their naked aggression, they are going ahead with it anyway, brazenly spitting in the face of an outraged world.

"Over the years, U.N. weapon inspectors have been threatened by Iraqi officials, electronically bugged, and systematically deceived."

A leaked internal National Security Agency memo revealed a Bush-regime-backed plot to intensively electronically spy on UN diplomats representing countries on the Security Council. The Bush regime's intent was to discover information they could use to threaten to expose and thus compromise key UN diplomats, to "persuade" them to side with the Bush regime.

On the deception front, no one has been more brazenly (and incompetantly) deceptive than the Bush regime. Secretary of State Powell tried but failed to pass off to the UN Security Council plagarized 10 year old college dissertations and magazine articles as first rate American intelligence "proving" a link between Iraq and Al Qaeda.

Later, documents produced by US intelligence agencies and provided to the UN purporting to "prove" that Hussein attempted to procur uranium from Niger were, upon closer inspection, discovered to be "obvious forgeries".

"Peaceful efforts to disarm the Iraqi regime have failed again and again -- because we are not dealing with peaceful men."

Peaceful efforts to avert the Bush regime's naked aggression against Iraq by the nations of the world have "failed again and again because -- [they] were not dealing with peaceful men."

"Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised."

No regime possesses and conceals more lethal and cutting edge weapons of mass destruction than the Bush regime. Even worse, they are hellbent to test their toys out on other nations, based on the flimsiest of pretexts.

"This regime has already used weapons of mass destruction against Iraq's neighbors and against Iraq's people."

The Bush-Clinton-Bush regime has already used weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, Yugoslavia, Sudan, and Afghanistan. And Dubya now is on the cusp of using them in such unprecidented concentrations against the people of Iraq that they (if all goes according to plan) will be "shocked and awed" into submission.

"The regime has a history of reckless aggression in the Middle East."

No regime has a more replete history of reckless aggression in the Middle East than Bush's. What else is this coming war but "reckless aggression"? What else is the 12 year continuous bombing campaign against Iraq? What else is the quasi-permanent stationing of US troops in Saudi Arabia? What else was the US's arming, advising and supply of Hussein during the Iran/Iraq War? What else was the many CIA sponsored internal subversions and coups designed to install in power lackies and thugs who'd do the US regime's bidding?

"It has a deep hatred of America and our friends."

What subject people wouldn't hate such an insufferably arrogant and brazenly hypocritical would-be conquerer and oppressor?

"And it has aided, trained and harbored terrorists, including operatives of al Qaeda."

No regime as aided, trained, and harbored more terrorists, including operatives of al Qaeda, than Bush's regime.

In fact, al Qaeda itself was a CIA-backed creation. Its original purpose was to undermine the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. But, it unfortunately didn't stop there. The CIA utilized them in their covert efforts to subvert the Balkans. Bin Laden's crew provided a key arms and drugs supply line from their Taliban-backed bases in Afghanistan to the CIA-backed Kosovo Liberation Army. As recently as 1998, al Qaeda continued to be a key Spook asset of the United States government.

" The danger is clear: using chemical, biological or, one day, nuclear weapons, obtained with the help of Iraq, the terrorists could fulfill their stated ambitions and kill thousands or hundreds of thousands of innocent people in our country, or any other."

So, to prevent this extremely hypothetical scenario, the Bush regime "is going to kill thousands or hundreds of thousands of innocent people" -- Americans and Iraqis -- NOW!

"The United States and other nations did nothing to deserve or invite this threat."

Iraq has done absolutely nothing to deserve or invite conquest by the United States. On the other hand, when the Bush regime sets about to commit an unprovoked naked aggression against another sovereign nation, it deserves and invites a defensive response.

"Instead of drifting along toward tragedy, we will set a course toward safety."

"Safety" = a unprovoked life-extinguishing, "shock and awe"-inducing, meat-grinding war of conquest? Calling George Orwell!

"Before the day of horror can come, before it is too late to act, this danger will be removed."

The greatest danger to world peace at this moment is the Bush regime itself.

"The United States of America has the sovereign authority to use force in assuring its own national security."

Then why doesn't Iraq have this same right?

"That duty falls to me, as Commander-in-Chief, by the oath I have sworn, by the oath I will keep."

The Constitution Dubya swore an oath to defend says that only Congress (not the President) has the sole power to declare war. By waging an undeclared, unconstitutional, and unprovoked war, Bush has brazenly violated his oath of office.

"Recognizing the threat to our country, the United States Congress voted overwhelmingly last year to support the use of force against Iraq."

No it didn't. It authorized action against terrorists. It did not authorize war with Iraq, a nation which has no known link with al Qaeda.

"America tried to work with the United Nations to address this threat because we wanted to resolve the issue peacefully."

Yet another lie. The Bush regime obviously had no intent to ever resolve its disputes with Iraq peacefully.

"We believe in the mission of the United Nations."

So long as it rubber stamps the Bush regime's planned conquests.

"One reason the U.N. was founded after the second world war was to confront aggressive dictators, actively and early, before they can attack the innocent and destroy the peace."

And it did "confront an aggressive dictator, before he could attack the innocent and destroy the peace." But, Bush is determined to attack another sovereign nation without just provocation anyway.

On the contrary, the Security Council explicitly refused to authorize or endorse Bush's naked aggression against Iraq.

The Bush regime is the very model of "lawless men who rule [their] country". They have systematically violated the Constitution since 9-11, from the misnamed USA Patriot Act, to this oncoming Congressionally undeclared war.

"In a free Iraq, there will be no more wars of aggression against your neighbors.."

But in a so-called "free" America, there WILL be wars of aggression against any nation the Bush regime sees fit to attack, destroy, and conquer!

"...no more poison factories..."

Instead, a Bush-regime-installed puppet government will buy all they need from American defense contractors, just like Hussein did during the Iran/Iraq War.

"...no more executions of dissidents..."

The Bush regime has just announced that peaceful anti-war protesters who trespass onto Vandenburg Air Force Base will, henceforth, be shot on sight.

"...no more torture chambers and rape rooms."

The Bush regime has, contrary to American custom and law, embraced torture as a viable and even necessary law enforcement tool.

"The tyrant will soon be gone."

And a new American tyrant (namely, Bush) shall take his place.

"Free nations have a duty to defend our people by uniting against the violent."

No regime is more violent at this moment than Bush's own.

And there you have it.

Clearly, the Bush regime is little more than monstrous hypocrisy backed by deadly force.

If its charges against Iraq justify a regime change by conquest there, then the Bush regime stands equally guilty and worthy of regime change here. The only difference between the two is this: the Bush regime is, in fact, bristling with weapons of mass destruction, rendering its regime extremely difficult to change, while Hussein's, after twelve years of perpetual bombing and economic sanctions, is but a toothless tiger by comparison.

Do You Worship at the Feet of Nebuchadnezzar's Statue?

Nearly half a millennia before Christ, a new era dawned.

The scriptures call it the "Times of the Gentiles" and it was inaugurated by God in part as penalty for Jewish disobedience. It began with the destruction of Solomon's Temple and the exile of the Jewish nation into the land of its first in a succession of Gentile conquerors: Babylon.

There, God gave the Jew's new pagan overlord a remarkable vision that foretold the entire history of this new era in advance. And, fortunately for us, He also gave a faithful Jew named Daniel (then laboring in his conqueror's service) its proper interpretation. That prophet recorded this amazing event in the second chapter of the book of Daniel. We would do well to take note of it, for it speaks not just of ancient times already long past, but of our own time as well.

King Nebuchadnezzar dreamed of a dazzling and awesome statue. It was a great statue of a man, and it was forged of metals, both precious and base. Specifically:

...its head was pure GOLD,

...its arms and chest were SILVER,

...its belly and hips were BRONZE,

...its legs were IRON,

...and its feet were an odd mingling of IRON and BAKED CLAY.

Then the King beheld an amazing sight. A ROCK was cut out, but not by human hands. The ROCK struck the IRON and CLAY feet of the statue, and the statue in its entirety --- the GOLD, the SILVER, the BRONZE, the IRON, and the IRON mixed with BAKED CLAY -- all simultaneously shattered into pieces and, then, like chaff on a thresher's floor, was swept away by the wind. Not even a trace of it remained.

Then the ROCK that struck the statue became a huge MOUNTAIN and filled the earth.

Daniel then explained to King Nebuchadnezzar the meaning of this strange vision as follows:

The statue's four distinct metal sections each represent four successive GENTILE EMPIRES that shall rise up and rule. Each one shall rise up, and then be conquered by its successor.

Specifically:

...the head of GOLD is Nebachadnezzar's own empire, the one that became the first instrument of God's judgment against the Jewish Kingdom: BABYLON! Note that Babylon is the HEAD of this great statue. That means that the entire statue is in some way directed and guided by Babylonian thought forms. As we'll see when we look back at the statue in its entirety, this is indeed the case.

...the arms and chest of SILVER is the future conqueror of Babylon, which Daniel says will be an empire inferior to that of its predecessor. We know this now to be MEDO-PERSIA!

...the belly and hips of BRONZE is the future conqueror of Medo-Persia, which Daniel says will eventually rule the whole earth. We know this now to be GREECE, and, indeed, Alexander's Empire was vast, reaching as far east as India. But, also note that since those times, Greek ideas and Greek ways have indeed come to rule the whole earth, thanks in no small part to the fearsome power of its successor...

...the legs of IRON and the feet of IRON mixed with BAKED CLAY is the future conqueror of Greece, which Daniel says will be "strong as iron" and "as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others." We know this now to be ROME. But, curiously, unlike its predecessors, this fourth empire is never conquered by a man-made rival. It, instead, only changes its form...

...the feet of IRON and BAKED CLAY is the end-times form ROME will take. Daniel explains that the original UNITY OF IRON will eventually become a DISUNITY, only partly strong like the IRON legs from which it came, but also partly brittle, like the BAKED CLAY intermixed with the IRON in its feet. And the mixture of these two elements which do not naturally mix well portends that this one-time UNITY OF IRON will metamorphose into a mixture of peoples that will not remain united, any more than IRON mixes with CLAY.

Friends, this is as succinct a summary of the history of what we call Western Civilization as any ever written.

The Empire that was ROME never really fell. It instead metamorphosed into an IRON and CLAY disunity of many "little ROMES", each like the IRON UNITY from whence they came, but also unlike it in their brittleness, their proneness to break apart, their characteristic of being a difficult-to-unify mixture of peoples.

These are the civilizational children of ROME. We know them well. They have each gone forth to conquer the world, in part: Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Austria-Hungary, Turkey, Russia, and, yes, even the United States of America.

This last EMPIRE of IRON and then IRON and CLAY will indeed be the LAST. Daniel tells us that it will reign over men until God draws the "Times of the Gentiles" to a close with a watershed event. God will Himself intervene directly in the affairs of men and SMASH this FALSE IDOL of GENTILE EMPIRE to SMITHEREENS with the ROCK hewn not by human hands.

Daniel explains that the ROCK is GOD's KINGDOM and that it is ETERNAL, for it "will never be destroyed nor will it be left to another people." Furthermore, it will SHATTER all those GENTILE EMPIRES and bring them to an end, and it shall endure FOREVER.

This amazing dream lays out all of human history from Daniel's time to our own and beyond in advance.

So, where do we stand in this panoply? Where is America? Are we to be found in this dazzling and seductive man-made idol of EMPIRE? Or are we the ROCK?

George W. Bush would like you to believe we are the rock. He would like you to believe that American Empire, in effect, is nothing less than the Kingdom of God advancing in the world.

But America cannot be the ROCK, for the ROCK is not made by human hands. God's Kingdom will not be established by human works. Rather, it will be established by the UTTER NEGATION of humanity's most seductive work of all. Daniel tells us that the GREAT AND AWESOME EDIFACE THAT IS EMPIRE will be SMASHED INTO NOTHINGNESS by the ROCK, not that it will become the ROCK, or the MOUNTAIN. These two rival claimants of humanity's love, loyalties, and affections stand unalterably opposed to each other for all time, even to the end of time, and the GREAT IDOL that is EMPIRE shall not prevail. The ROCK will crush it. And it will smash it UTTERLY.

It could not be more clear, then, that America is among the many shards of IRON mixed with BAKED CLAY in the great statue's feet. We are one of many end-times heirs to ROMAN CIVILIZATION. But we are not only heirs to ROME. We are also heirs through ROME of the three empires which preceded it. This is why, from God's perspective, these four empires are seen as a UNITY, and the HEAD OF THE STATUE that still directs WE WHO ARE OF IT'S FEET is BABYLON.

If you doubt this, consider the way we order time. There are sixty seconds in a minute, sixty minutes in an hour, twenty-four hours in a day, and twelve months in a year because Babylon so established it, and we follow it still today.

But it goes even deeper. Easter, Christmas, Lent...all now nominally Christian celebrations are actually rooted in Babylonian paganism. Why else do you think Easter bunnies and eggs have been co-mingled with what purports to be an annual remembrance of Christ's resurrection? Because it first was a Babylonian spring fertility rite celebrating the goddess Astarte, that's why.

We are still the children of Babylon, as much as we are still the children of Persia, Greece, and Rome.

And we are among those whom God foretold would be partly strong and partly brittle, having the qualities of the original UNITY OF IRON that was ROME, but also having weaknesses stemming from disunity caused in part by a mixing of diverse peoples.

We are among the many disunified "kingdoms" represented by those FEET OF (partly) CLAY, and, as such, we are destined together with all the rest to be SMASHED TO PIECES by the coming ROCK.

So, whom do you worship? The man-made idol with a head of GOLD and feet of IRON and CLAY? Or the divinely hewn ROCK?

Whatever you do, don't confuse the two. Despite what anti-Christ George W. Bush says, they are not one and the same. In fact, they are unalterably opposed to one another in a fight to the death. And guess what? George W. Bush and his minions who lust after EMPIRE don't have a prayer. Their IDOL shall be SMASHED to SMITHEREENS by the ROCK that will come. It's not a question of if, only when.

I can't wait.

The Profound Co-Identification Between Yeshua, the Messiah, and His People, Israel

In the course of several of our many theological disputations here on LibertyForum, I have made the point in passing that Jesus and Israel are so intimately identified with each other in scripture, that it is impossible to love one but hate the other.

Perhaps some of you wondered what on earth I was refering to by this. In what ways are Jesus and his Jewish brethren, the nation of Israel, intimately identified with each other? This question I will now answer.

Before I do, I must say that this concept is not original to me. I was introduced to it myself while reading a theological study by Sydney H.T. Page called Powers of Evil: A Biblical Study of Satan and Demons which focused, in part, on the encounters of Jesus with Satan during his earthly ministry. But, since being introduced to the idea by this book, I have since enlarged upon it myself in the course of my own study, finding that the intimate co-identification between Jesus and the Jews extends beyond the events of Jesus' early ministry to include even the events surrounding his death, resurrection, and ascension!

So, in what way are Jesus and the Jews intimately identified with each other in scripture? Basically, key events in the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus exactly parallel and correspond to the most important and profound events in the national life of the Jewish people, and visa versa!

Specifically, the events in the life of Jesus when Jesus began his priestly ministry exactly parallel and correspond to the events of the Exodus, when God brought Israel out from Egypt with a mighty hand to begin her service as "a holy nation" and "a kingdom of priests".

Furthermore, the events surrounding Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension exactly parallel events in the national life of Israel since, and those which are predicted to occur at the end of this age and in the age to come.

Let's first look at the profound parallels in the life of Jesus and national Israel at the outset of their respective ministries:

Baptism:

Both Jesus and national Israel began their priestly ministries by being emersed in water.

Israel's national emersion occured when they passed through the waters of the Red Sea. It was administered by God himself. By this emersion, national Israel experienced a profound change in her national life: She became dead to her former life of slavery in the world, and alive to a new life of freedom in intimate fellowship with God. She was, as a nation, literally born again.

Jesus began his public ministry by likewise being emersed in water. Jesus came to the river Jordan to be baptized by his cousin John, much to the perplexity of John, for John understood that Jesus was the promised Messiah who knew no sin, had no former life in slavery to sin to die to, nothing to repent of, and no need to be born again. After all, he, unlike the rest of fallen humanity, was ever and always alive in the fullest sense of the word.

When John protested to Jesus that it ought to be Jesus baptizing John, not the other way around, Jesus responded, "Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this TO FULFILL ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS." (Matthew 3:15).

What exactly did Jesus mean by this? Why did he, who was without sin, submit to baptism?

I think he may, in part, have been alluding to this providential co-identification between himself and national Israel. It was necessary for him to be baptized just as Israel had been baptized, to make His identification with them and they with him perfect and complete.

Note that, while the life of Jesus and that of national Israel run parallel, there remain important distinctions. Whereas, in the crossing of the Red Sea, sinful Israel was baptized by her sinless God, at the river Jordan, her sinless God was baptized by a sinful Israelite. So the two are parallel, but at the same time opposite. This is a recurring pattern throughout.
A Divine Declaration of Sonship:

God publicly declared both Jesus and national Israel to be His son.

For Israel, this divine declaration took place just prior to her national baptism, when Moses said to Pharaoh, "This is what the Lord says, 'Israel is my firstborn son' and I told you, 'Let my son go so he may worship me.'" (Exodus 4:22-23)

Immediately after Jesus' own baptism, a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17)
God's Spirit Descends, Indwells, and Imparts His Law:

Immediately following their respective baptisms, both Jesus and Israel were indwelt by the Spirit of God, who, in turn, imparted to them His Law.

God's Holy Spirit and God's Law are inseparable. When God spoke through Jeremiah and foretold of the New Covenant to come, He said this:

"The time is coming," declares the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them," declares the Lord.

This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the Lord. I will put MY LAW on their minds, and write IT on their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people." (Jeremiah 31:31-33)

Note that the Spirit of God manifested itself in the camp of Israel immediately after her departure from Egypt. It came as pillars of cloud by day and of fire by night leading them to the place of their baptism. (Needless to say, this exactly parallels the manner in which each of us are led to our own personal baptism.)

But, after her national baptism, God came near and spoke to Israel directly, first from a place of separation high above the camp on Mount Sinai, and then from the Holy of Holies right in their midst, dwelling in His newly built Tabernacle.

In this way, the Spirit of God came to dwell among them. He literally indwelt in the midst them, manifesting His Shekinah glory from the Tabernacle erected in the very heart of the camp of Israel. The Torah records that the builders of the Tabernacle were themselves indwelt and empowered by the Spirit of God to build the Tabernacle precisely according to God's instructions. Thus, the Spirit of God taught Israel His Law, no longer absent or afar off on a fearful and fiery mountain, but right there in the midst of them, exactly the function the indwelling Spirit of God performs in the life of every believer.

Likewise, immediately following Jesus' baptism, Matthew recounts, "At that moment, heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him." (Matthew 3:16)

It was no accident that Peter and the other believers in Jesus were likewise filled with the Spirit accompanied by great manifestations of wind and fire at Shavuot (the Feast of Weeks or Pentecost), for this inauguration of the New Covenant occurred precisely on the anniversary of the day Israel recieved the Law at Sinai and was indwelt by God via His Tabernacle erected at the very center of their camp!
A Time of Testing in the Wilderness:

Immediately after their respective baptisms and indwellings by the Spirit of God, both Jesus and Israel were tested and tried in the wilderness.

After they had received the Law, built the Tabernacle, and were indwelt by God in the midst of their encampment, Israel's failure to trust that God would fulfill His covenant promises to them and bring them safely into possession of the promised land led God to withhold his promised blessing from the generation who had received the Law and give it instead to the generation to come -- with the notable exception of two faithful witnesses from the Exodus generation, Joshua and Caleb. But for Joshua and Caleb, the generation of the Exodus was condemned by God to wonder for 40 years in the wilderness. There, they were repeatedly tried and tested, but found wanting.

Jesus, after his baptism and his indwelling by the Holy Spirit, likewise went into the wilderness -- not for 40 years, but for 40 days -- and there he too was tried and tested. But, unlike Israel, he did not fall prey to Satanic temptation. He held fast to the law of God, and sinned not.
The Same Temptations, But With Opposite Results:

Now, as if the correspondence between the life of Jesus and the national life of Israel we've seen so far was not enough, here's where it becomes explicit and incontrovertable. When I read of this in Page's book, I was literally blown away. Maybe you will be too.

Jesus was subjected by Satan to at least three temptations during his 40 days of fasting in the wilderness. In response to each one, Jesus rebuked his adversary by quoting from the Torah. And the passages he quoted from the Torah are directly related to identical temptations then faced by Israel during her 40 years of wondering in the wilderness! Let's review each temptation one by one:
- Temptation #1 -- Israel and Jesus Tested By Physical Deprivation:
  
  Satan to Jesus: "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." (Matthew 4:3)
  
  Jesus to Satan: "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" (Matthew 4:4 quoting Deuteronomy 8:3)
  
  Here's the passage Jesus quoted from in full: "Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you or your father had known, to teach you that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of God." (Deuteronomy 8:2-3)
  
  The parallels here could not be more clear. Both Jesus and Israel were tested by physical deprivation for 40 days/years in the wilderness, and while Israel often responded with grumbling, fear, a longing for Egypt, and unfaith, Jesus held true to God's word and trusted God his Father to provide him sustenance -- or not -- according to His will.
- Temptation #2 -- Israel and Jesus Tempted to Put God to the Test:
  
  Satan to Jesus: "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down [from the highest point of the Temple]. For it is written:
  
  'He will command his angels concerning you, and they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot on a stone.'" (Matthew 4:6 quoting Psalm 91: 11,12)
  
  Jesus to Satan: "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'" (Matthew 4:7 quoting Deuteronomy 6:16)
  
  Here's the passage Jesus quoted from in full: "Do not test the Lord your God as you did at Massah. (Deuteronomy 6:16)
  
  At Massah, Israel, thirsty for water, became quarrelsome, even to the point of wanting to stone Moses for leading them out of Egypt into the wilderness to seemingly die of thirst, and they put the Lord to the test, saying, "Is the Lord among us or not?" (Exodus 17-7)
  
  So, again, in their respective wilderness trials, whereas Israel fell to temptation and sinned, Jesus resisted temptation, took refuge in God's word, and proved himself sinless.
- Temptation #3 -- Israel and Jesus Tempted by Idolatry:
  
  Satan to Jesus: "All this [the kingdoms of this world and all their splendor] I will give you, if you will bow down and worship me." (Matthew 4:9)
  
  Jesus to Satan: "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" (Matthew 4:10 quoting Deuteronomy 6:13)
  
  Here's the passage Jesus quoted in full: "Fear the Lord your God, serve him only, and take your oathes in his name. Do not follow other gods, the gods of the people around you; for the Lord your God, who is among you, is a jealous God, and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land." (Deuteronomy 13-15)
  
  As is well known, Israel was likewise tempted to turn away from God and/or go after other gods throughout their wilderness journey, but gave into it most dramatically on the foot of Mount Sinai when they fashioned the Golden Calf because she perversely longed for the splendor of the kingdoms of this world, specifically Pharoah's Egypt, from whose clutches God had just delivered them.
  
  So, again, Jesus and Israel were both tempted in the same way during their wilderness trials, but whereas Israel gave into temptation and sinned, Jesus resisted temptation and proved himself to be sinless and, therefore, qualified to be their (and our) Messiah.
After Their Wilderness Trials, the Promised Land/Kingdom Draws Near (But Is Initially Rejected Due to Lack of Faith):

After their respective baptisms, indwellings, and wilderness trials, both Jesus and Israel were prepared to come into their promised Kingdom.

For Israel, because of their sin, the generation of the Exodus -- the ones who fell to the temptations Jesus withstood in his own wilderness trial -- perished in the wilderness and did not live to see the promised kingdom, with two exceptions: Joshua, an Israelite, and Caleb, a Gentile. These two men, because they alone trusted that God could accomplish exactly what He had promised, joined the next generation of national Israel, faithfully followed God's lead, and took possession of their promised land.

Jesus, after his own wilderness trial, went forth to preach his kingdom message to the "lost sheep of the house of Israel," saying: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." (Matthew 4:17) In essence, he was saying, "Don't make the same mistake your forefathers made when they stood and looked across to the promised land and turned away from the blessing God had set before them due to lack of faith! Instead, repent, BELIEVE, and come NOW into your promised national inheritance!" But, most didn't listen and repeated, for lack of faith, the national sin of the Exodus generation.

Now, there is a hint in the events of Exodus which foreshadows the break in Jewish history which took place following Israel's national rejection of the Messiahship of Jesus and, with him, his promised Kingdom.

The generation of the Exodus, had they been faithful, would have come into their promised land. Faithful Joshua, the man God would appoint to lead them into the promised land, was alive and living among them. He had seen it, and, along with the Gentile, Caleb, was full of faith and fight, ready and eager to take possession of it.

But the generation of the Exodus feared the Canaanites more than they trusted in the power of God to accomplish all that He had promised. And so, they blew their great opportunity and did not come into possession of the promised land. It's realization would have to wait until a future more faithful generation of Israelites arose. That future generation, because of their faith, would do what the faithless generation would not. They would trust God and follow God's annointed leader, Joshua, to take possession of all that God had promised them.

Note that "Jesus" is the English transliteration of the Greek name "Eisus" which is itself a Greek transliteration of the Hebrew name "Yeshua" which, if it were directly transliterated from Hebrew to English, would be "JOSHUA" and "Joshua" means "salvation"! Now you know why the angel specifically instructed Mary to name her son "Yeshua".

Like the faithless generation of the Exodus, the faithless generation of Israelites who lived at the time of Yeshua committed the very same national sin. They feared the power of Rome more than they trusted in the power of God to accomplish all that he had promised. Fearing the power of Rome more than their God, they delivered their Joshua, their annointed one, Yeshua, over to the Romans to be crucified. And, like the faithless generation of the Exodus, the faithless generation who refused to follow their Joshua, Yeshua, perished without ever coming into their promised Kingdom. As in the Exodus, the fulfillment of God's promises to Israel would await a future more faithful generation of Israelites who would follow in faith their Joshua and their God, Yeshua the Messiah, to take possession of all that God has promised them.

And so we wait for that generation of Israelites to come. When they do come, so too will Yeshua -- again -- and he will establish God's promised Kingdom here on the earth. But, until then, the nation Israel and Jesus, continue to experience parallel lives. They continue to be intimately identified with each other, not only in the inauguration of their priestly ministries, but also in their respective deaths, resurrections, and ascensions to rule!

I stumbled across this remarkable truth in an amazing passage in Hosea, specifically Hosea 5:14 - 6:2:

"For I will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a great lion to Judah. I will tear them to pieces and go away; I will carry them off with no one to rescue them.

Then I will go back to my place until they admit guilt. And they will seek my face; in their misery, they will earnestly seek me.

Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces, but he will heal us. He has injured us, but he will bind up our wounds. AFTER TWO DAYS, he will revive us; and ON THE THIRD DAY he will restore us, that we may LIVE in his presence."

Wow! Do you see it? What Jesus experienced as a result of Israel's rejection of him, God says to Hosea the nation of Israel will likewise experience and they have! Let's review it step by step:

Delivered into the hands of the Gentiles to be laid low and, ultimately, to be put to death:

An unfaithful Israel gave Yeshua over to the Gentiles -- the Romans -- who recognized not his royalty but treated him as they would a common criminal, subjecting him to humiliation, tortures short of death, and finally, a tortured death on the cross.

In the midst of his agony on the cross of Rome, as the sins of all of us were being borne by him and judged, Jesus suffered a terrifying sin-induced separation from God and cried out, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"

Similarly, God gave the faithless nation of Israel over to the Gentiles -- the Romans -- who recognized not her royal lineage as the chosen people of God, but treated her collectively as if she were a nation of lawless brigands, no better than common criminals. And, like Yeshua, Israel was first subjected to humiliation and tortures short of national death.

In the midst of her national agony, Israel, like Jesus, also suffered a terrifying national separation from God. Her Temple was utterly destroyed by godless pagans in 70 AD and her appointed priesthood was denied any means to perform their ancient and Torah-ordained priestly functions.

Just as Jesus lingered on in his torment on the cross, physically alive though spiritually deadened by imputed sin-induced separation from his God, Israel lingered on in the land tormented by her Roman oppressors, though nationally cut off from God by the physical destruction of her Temple and forced cessation of the mediatory services performed by her Levitical priesthood. She lingered on, that is, until 132 AD, when, ironically, the post-Temple Rabbinate, then rising to preeminence in Judaism, announced that Simon Bar Khochba -- not Yeshua -- was the true Jewish Messiah whom all faithful Jews must follow. He, not Yeshua, would usher in their hoped for Kingdom, they proclaimed!

Instead, being the false messiah that he was, he led them only to utter destruction, even more disastous than the revolt which culminated in the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD, and, as a result, national Israel suffered a de facto national death on a figurative Roman cross. Jews were killed by the hundreds of thousands. What Jews were not killed were led away in chains to slavery. No Jew was permitted to live in their ancient capitol, Jerusalem, and its ancient name was blotted out by imperial edict -- changed to "Aelia Capitolina" even as the city itself was transformed into a center for pagan idol worship. A temple to the Roman god Jupiter was built on the ruins of the Temple of the one true God. The very name of "Judea" was likewise blotted out by imperial edict, and what had been the land of the Jews for nearly 1300 years was, perversely, renamed in honor of Israel's ancient Gentile enemies, the Philistines, and called "Palestine." And so the nation Israel, like their Messiah Yeshua, was cruelly put to a tortured death by Rome. Her foretold world-wide dispersion for disobediance had begun.
Dead two days...

After his crucifixion by the Romans, Jesus laid dead in the tomb for two days, showing no signs at all of the resurrected life that was to come.

Since her national "crucifixion" by the Romans, national Israel -- meaning Jews living in the land of promise -- laid dead for nearly 2000 years. But remember, "With the Lord a day is like 1000 years, and 1000 years like a day." (2 Peter 3:8) By the Hebrew method of counting, two days is not necessarily exactly 48 hours (nor, by God's reckoning, 2000 years). It's just inclusive of at least part of two successive days, or anywhere between 1000 and 2000 years by God's reckoning. So, assuming that the lives of Yeshua and national Israel continue to be as intimately correlated in death as they were at the outset of their respective ministries, we would expect, based on the prophetic word of God in Hosea, national Israel to remain dead for no more than 2000 years.

Lo and behold, national Israel WAS dead for exactly 1948 - 135 = 1813 years = two 1000 year days by a Hebrew's reckoning. "AFTER TWO DAYS, he will revive us," said God to Hosea regarding Israel! And Israel has been so revived in our time! We ourselves have seen this prophecy be fulfilled! We have witnessed national Israel being revived from the dead after two "days" just as her Messiah was! How awesome is that?
...Risen on the third day!

Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. Remember, by a Hebrew's reckoning, this does not mean after exactly 72 hours. It only meant at least part of a first day, all of the second day, and at least part of a third day.

Likewise, God promises in Hosea that Israel, after being revived on the second day, will be RESTORED on the third day! That is where we are heading, folks! Israel will be fully restored in glory, having an eternal national life, just like her Messiah Yeshua, on the third day! And this is the moment when the two lives of Yeshua and the nation Israel, which thus far have been unfolding in a parallel fashion, will conjoin and merge into one, for Yeshua will reign over this fully restored and eternal nation of Israel as her King, and they, together, will rule over the earth. They both shall live and rule together, united forever, as ONE!

I hope this study has helped to convey the reasons why I am so passionate in my advocacy on behalf of the presently revived -- but not yet fully restored -- nation of Israel. Israel's revival is truly a work of God and it will not be undone -- not by Palestinians nor their Gentile sympathizers, not by Jew-haters of whatever nationality, not by anyone.

Jesus, the Messiah, and his people, the nation of Israel, are so intimately identified with each other by the God who is their common Father, that their lives have been appointed by Him to be lived out in a parallel fashion, each intimately related to and indentified with the other. They both are "firstborn sons of God," they both had their priestly missions inaugurated by water baptism, they both were indwelled by the Spirit of God living in their midst, they both were instructed by the Spirit in the Law of God, they both were tried and tested in the wilderness, they both were tempted in the same manner (though one fell to temptation while the other proved himself blameless), they both ultimately were delivered into the hands of the Gentiles to suffer humiliation and affliction (though one was delivered guiltless by the guilty and the other was delivered guilty by the guiltless), they both experienced a gut-wrenching sin-induced separation from God in the midst of their afflictions, they both were "crucified" until dead at the hands of Gentiles, they both were dead for two days (or nearly 2000 years by God's reckoning), one has already been revived and was fully restored to life on the third day while the other has only recently been revived and will soon also be fully restored to its national life on the third day (or, by a Hebrew reckoning of God's 1000 year days, sometime following their national revival but no later than 3000 years after suffering national death), and BOTH, once made fully alive, shall live forever, united together as ONE, as a husband unites with his beloved wife; together, joined by mutual faithfulness to their marriage-like covenants, they shall rule and reign over a restored earth, itself likewise redeemed from the terrible consequences of Adam's fall.

Now you know why Paul said, "For if their [Israel's] rejection [of Yeshua] is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but LIFE FROM THE DEAD!" (Romans 11:16)

Today, in the time of Israel's revival from national death, there should be no more urgent calling for followers of Yeshua the world over, than to be loving witnesses to HIS PEOPLE, ISRAEL of the REAL Yeshua -- the Jew of Jews. But, to be that loving witness, past Gentile error must be put away. One cannot affirm Yeshua and at the same time deny his people. The two are all bound up together. Even unbelieving Jews know this, and so they have rejected our past witness because, frankly, its negation of Israel has been absolutely unbiblical and, very possibly, diabolical. How tragic is it that false Gentile presumption and hatred of the Jews has worked to further alienate Jews from their King throughout the centuries? The reconcilation of the Jewish people to their Messiah will literally transform the world, because with their repentance comes their full restoration as a nation, and with their full restoration as a nation comes the Messiah himself to reign and rule! It will literally mean life from the dead, not only for Israel, but for all of mankind!

Our time is the time of Israel's revival! Her full restoration is yet to come. But the sooner it comes, the better, because the sooner it comes, the sooner the Messiah himself will come.

We Gentile believers are privileged to get to play a part in this, her coming restoration -- if we choose to, that is. Yeshua said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called Sons of God." There is no higher calling for Gentile believers, I think, than to be peacemakers and to mediate, by our own loving witness of Yeshua to the Jews in both word and deed, the breach on which the future of the whole world turns -- namely, the unnatural alienation of Israel from her thoroughly Jewish Messiah.

But, before we can do that, there is another breach which must be mediated -- namely, the unnatural alienation of Gentile believers in Yeshua from his chosen people, Israel. Heal this breach first, and the reconciliation of Israel with her Messiah will surely follow on in train.

Do you see the big picture now? Do you see why I think it impossible to love the King of the Jews and, at the same time, hate the Jewish people? They are so intimately related to and identified with each other as to be virtually inseparable, a status they will fully realize in the Kingdom soon to come.

Musings on the Now Almost Forgotten Anthrax Attacks

Isn't it strange? Immediately following 9-11, Congress and major media outlets get attacked via the mail by what has now been identified as US manufactured weapons grade anthrax. Then, after the Congress (and the nation generally) launch into full panic mode and rubberstamp draconian post 9-11 legislation like the misnamed "Patriot Act," suddenly, the attacks just stop.

We still don't know who or what was behind those attacks. All we seem to know is that the anthrax was American made. The kind the feds themselves have routinely developed and experimented with in the past.

A notion struck me today which I'd like to bounce off of you...

What if the anthrax attacks on the media and Congress were a post 9-11 message from the executive branch to the only two power centers which might prove problematic should they resist it in its now full bore push towards fascist tyranny, both at home and abroad?

The message being, basically this: Do what we tell you to do or we can, if need be, kill you with impunity and blame it on "the terrorists".

In other words, were the anthrax attacks part of a defacto fascist coup against both the constitution and what little is left of the 1st amendment?

Does this sort of intimidation explain why abominations like the Patriot Act passed so quickly and with so little deliberation? Does this also explain why the media has been so compliant, beating the war drums in unison, cheerleading for the state?

This is pure speculation but if you were a rogue executive and wanted to leave nothing at all to chance, might you resort to such heavy-handed intimidation tactics? And if you were a Congressman or a Big Media star, knowing that you could have your ticket punched quickly by the state via such means if you failed to do as you were told, would you have any choice other than to comply?

Am I on to something here?

The Price of Empire Is Now Higher Than Any Sane Nation Would Willingly Pay

But is America still sane? Especially after the madness of September 11, before we rush out in haste to add our own fuel to the raging furnace fires of some future global apocolypse, will we pause to draw some obvious lessons from recent events? For example:

In a world where the latest technology enables small groups to wield great destructive power -- be it nuclear, chemical, biological, or, in the case of Tuesday, domestic airliners transformed into guided missiles -- we must recognize that our power to prevent such attacks is now far less than our power to change how we relate to other nations and peoples so that those who might otherwise be provoked to make such attacks will no longer have any cause to do so.
In a world such as this, it is folly, it may even be suicidal, for any nation to seek to intervene in the affairs of other nations and peoples and appoint itself the DECISIVE ARBITOR of every bitter conflict the world over. Doing so only makes the arrogant intervener the common enemy and the prime target for the worst attacks of every conflict's most radical combatants -- attacks events this week have proven we are virtually powerless to prevent, especially when their perpetrators are clever, patient, persevering, and determined.
Unless a nation is willing and able to destroy one's enemies utterly and deny them all power (as we did in WWII, at least with respect to Germany, Italy, and Japan), a sane nation in a world such as the one we now live in would seek to conduct its affairs in a manner so as to avoid making enemies, or, at least, to minimize -- NOT MAXIMIZE -- its enemies. Furthermore, given the terrible nature of modern weaponry and modern guerilla and terror tactics, no nation, not even America, has the power to destroy its enemies utterly anymore. Short of committing unacceptable genocide, capable avengers will remain alive and able to strike back even after so-called "victory". Thus, a nation may now multiply its enemies and its troubles one-thousandfold by the attempt to destroy what enemies it presently has.

Therefore, in light of these new realities, it is imperative that America fundamentally change its posture vis a vis the rest of the world. If we should continue on our present path and keep on grasping to hold on to an IMPOSSIBLE EMPIRE, we will only invite our own eventual destruction by the enemies we will unnecessarily create by our own unjust impositions, unyielding intrusions, and insufferable arrogance.

Happily, this future apocolypse can be easily avoided. And a sane and wise nation would chart a course to do so rather than rush headlong towards its own inevitable destruction. Our founding fathers were both absolutely sane and incredibly wise, and the course they charted vis a vis the rest of the world remains our wisest course, especially in our world today. But we haven't heeded their wisdom for at least 84 years now, and hundreds of thousands of Americans have needlessly died as a consequence. Isn't it high time now -- NOW more than ever -- to heed their wisdom? Let us return to our pre-1917 posture and LIVE. Let us REJECT the vain quest for IMPOSSIBLE EMPIRE. Let us become a REPUBLIC AGAIN!

If I were President Bush, I would announce a complete reorientation of American foreign policy along the following lines:

The lessons of history are clear, but we, the United States of America, have not always heeded them. History demonstrates again and again that the quest for Empire is vain. Great nations, when they fall to the temptation of their power and seek to control and dominate lesser nations always fail in the final analysis. Instead of domination, they just end up creating unnecessary and implacable enemies, inviting terrible retaliation, and guaranteeing, eventually, the coellescence of reactive forces which purpose their eventual destruction. We have fallen to this temptation in the recent past; we have abused our great power for we have repeatedly intervened in countries and conflicts which ought to have been none of our business.

But we have learned from our past mistakes. We have learned that the more one seeks to control others by illicit means, the less control one really has; the more one seeks security by illicit means, the less secure one becomes. The horrific events of September 11 have confirmed to us the folly of our vain quest for global dominion.

So, I am pleased to announce tonight a fundamental reorientation of American foreign policy. We shall, from this day forth, cleave to the wisdom of our forefathers and govern our affairs in accordance with the following principles:

America will be ever vigilant in defending herself. Unprovoked attacks against our citizens, our territory, and our property will be fearfully avenged, but we no longer make any claim over the citizens, territory, or property of any other nation. Other nations are free to trade with us or not, enjoy friendly relations with us or not, govern themselves in a manner we approve of or not. We shall respect their sovereign choices and leave their citizens, territory, and property unmolested whatever they may choose provided, of course, that they reciprocate in kind and return to us this same respect.
The defense and security of every nation ought to be strictly the responsibility and burden of the government of each respective nation. Hence, we shall no longer take up the burdens of defending other nations. Your nation's defense is your business and your burden, NOT OURS. Consequently, the United States of America shall unilaterally withdraw from all mutual defense treaty obligations and resume a posture of strict neutrality with respect to regional conflicts the world over. We shall no longer be implicated or involved on any side of these conflicts. Furthermore, American armed forces shall be repositioned back to United States territory on a phased basis over the next decade.
We shall trade with all sides of any regional conflict if they wish to trade with us. We shall not discriminate in our trade policy in favor of or against any nation or group of nations based on their respective postures vis a vis one another. How other nations relate or fail to relate with each other is strictly their business, not ours, and so long as they leave our citizens, territory, and property unmolested and our nation respected, we shall reciprocate in kind.
The United States of America shall heretofore jealously guard only our own sovereign national prerogatives. We shall respect the sovereign national prerogatives of every other nation even as we demand that our own be respected. Therefore the United States of America shall withdraw from GATT, NAFTA, the UN, the WTO, and any other multilateral globalist treaty obligation or institution which unconstitutionally impinges on our own freedom of action, invites us to interpose ourselves into matters that ought to be strictly the sovereign business of other nations, or invites other nations to interpose themselves in matters which ought to be strictly our business. To this same end, all US government funded foreign aid programs and international transfer payments shall be phased out over the next five years.

In this way, America shall, from this day forth, be the respector of all nations and the enemy of no nation so long as they also respect us. Do not tread on us and you will no longer be tread upon by us. Our recent imperialistic ways we now reject. Our former ways of respecting all nations we now re-embrace. It is our hope that by this example we might not only enjoy peace ourselves, but also instruct all of mankind in the way of true peace, that peace and prosperity might abound for all.

And we would also urge all nations to abandon the way of Empire themselves as we have now done. Resist the temptations of power. Take our word for it, it is folly. It is worse than futile. In fact, it will bring nothing but grievous calamity and death to your people and guarantees, eventually, not national security or even prosperity, but only disaster.

Instead, respect your neighbors even as you would wish to be respected. This Golden Rule applies well to nations as well as individuals. From this day forth, America is committed to follow it. And to all the peoples of the earth whom we have harmed in our vain quest for global domination -- especially the Serbs of Yugoslavia -- we regret that we cannot restore life to your fellow citizens whom we have unjustly killed, but we shall at least endeavor to compensate you for the property we have destroyed and restore to you all territories which we have unjustly caused to be seized. But, most importantly, we shall impose ourselves upon you no more. You are henceforth free to follow your own sovereign course, to find your own peace. May we all find it and LIVE. To this end, we Americans hope to lead the way, but only by our example.

May God bless all the nations of the earth. And may God bless the United States of America.

Part II -- With Neutrality Comes Victory

In a previous essay titled The Price Of Empire Is Now Higher Than Any Sane Nation Would Willingly Pay, I argued that the new world which dawned for America after the 9-11 attacks necessitates that we resume a neutral posture vis a vis the rest of the world and I imagined what a speech by President Bush announcing such a seismic shift back to the foreign policy of our first president might sound like. But what I did not do in that essay was address the primary objection raised to such a course, namely that, by resuming neutrality, the primal need felt by most Americans to avenge the deaths of their fellow citizens who were murdered in the Twin Towers and the Pentagon that fateful Tuesday morning would seem to be unmet.

Indeed, at first blush, a resumption of neutrality in the wake of the 9-11 attacks might seem to be a kind of surrender, giving the terrorists everything they want while, at the same time, making us look weak and vulnerable to intimidation.

But deeper consideration reveals exactly the opposite. In fact, it is the present policy, the continued vain quest for impossible empire, which will further expose our weakness and invite even more terrible retaliations. It will do so because we are now fighting on a battleground of the terrorist's own choosing, at maximum disadvantage, and we will, therefore, in all likelihood, lose in the end. And in fighting this fight at all, and in losing this fight in the end, we will only invite ever escalating acts of terror at home, terror which our government has already demonstrated they are powerless to stop. In other words, by the present policy we are responding exactly as the terrorists EXPECT us to respond. We are walking right into their trap. We are playing right into their hands. This foolhardy policy may very well prove to be a fatal mistake (literally!) for our nation.

In stark contrast to the folly of Bush's unrepentant interventionism, consider the benefits which will accrue to us by our resumption of neutrality:

By withdrawing our forces from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, and the region, we remove one of the prime causes of regional resentment towards us. Furthermore, we signal that we shall no longer intervene on any side of conflicts which may arise there -- both internally within countries or externally between countries. Hence, the nations of the Middle East will suddenly be free to work out their own problems (or not) as they see fit. Their focus will instantly shift from America (and even Israel) back towards each other.

Now here's the beauty part: The only thing these Islamists hate more than an interventionist America (and Israel) is each other. Furthermore, our departure will leave a pot of black gold up for grabs in the Gulf. The Sheikdoms of the Gulf are unviable artifices of Anglo-American hubris. They cannot stand on their own. Hence, every populous Islamic state in the region -- Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Iran -- will inextricably be sucked into that power vacuum, because they all will realize that whichever one of them controls Saudi Arabia and the Gulf can also claim preemminance in the Islamic world over all the rest, and none of them wishes to be so subjegated.

So, what must be the inevitable result of our leaving?

I think it will be a bloody, internecine Moslem vs Moslem war for Islamic primacy that will make WW1 in Europe look like a garden party by comparison. Recall that Iraq and Iran fought each other to a standstill in the '80s, killing millions. The conflict which will result from our resumption of neutrality will make that one pale by comparison.

A side benefit of all this is that the Islamists will be so busy fighting each other, Israel and the Palestinians will be forgotten. In fact, Israel will be liberated by our withdrawl to steer her course through the scorpion's den of the Middle East in the manner which best serves her national interest as we shall no longer be implicated by anything she does.

In sum, by resuming our traditional and constitutional neutrality, we achieve total victory, both at home and abroad.

The Islamic world will be shattered, delegitimized, and millions of Muslims will die by their own hand.

Terrorism in America will stop.

Israel will be free to gain her security by whatever means she deems best.

And, best of all, our liberty at home will no longer be endangered by a run amok Imperial leviathan vainly engaged in a perpetual war for a peace which is never actually achieved nor even achievable by such means.

There is only one downside to my proposal. We may suffer an economic hit in the short run due to higher fuel prices. But isn't this a small price to pay for peace abroad and maximum liberty (with security) at home? I think it is. How about you?

I have both an optimistic (best case) and a pessimistic (worst case) prediction. I think that the actual outcome will be either one or the other.

My optimistic prediction is based on the Concluding/ Transitional Event of this 3rd Cycle being a revolt of the masses rejecting both socialism and globalism in favor of liberty. In that event, I predict:

Those who will not serve the interests of the state will neither work nor eat.; Mode of Foreign Engagement: The vain pursuit of "peace" by means of brutal criminal wars and subversion, ultimately resulting in like resistance and, ultimately, world-wide conflagration.

The epoch of American history I most identify with and would like to return to was, of course, The Agrarian Republic (1789 - 1861).

Finally, a stylistic note:

The text colors I chose for each epoch were not accidental, but were selected to conote the dominant features of each epoch.

The Agrarian Republic is blue because that is the epoch where America held the truest to her founding principles and her constitution, and it is, therefore (and not surprisingly), the epoch where liberty for most was at its maximum.

The Yankee Empire is green because that is the epoch dominated, above all, by capital and the pursuit of the almighty dollar, largely by Yankees who seem to have a natural acumen for economic predation and empire-building for fun, power, and profit.

The Socialist/Globalist Superstate is red because our current epoch has been dominated, above all, by socialistic and even communistic misgovernance at home and perpetual warfare in a vain pursuit of globalist hegemony abroad. So, the color of leftist revolution and blood is most appropriate, I think.

The Fourth Cycle is sky blue because that is the color of the UN flag (pessimistic case) or the clear blue sky of freedom (optimistic case) and, therefore, can fittingly be associated with either of the two possible outcomes.

Why Moderate Republicans Are More Dangerous To Our Liberty Than Liberal Democrats

The Bushies like to use fear to promote their candidate. Because there are not many good reason's to vote for Dubya, they argue that we should do so anyway, as opposed to say vote for a genuine conservative of conviction like Pat Buchanan, because voting for Dubya they claim is the most effective way to vote against and defeat the liberal Democrats, Gore or Bradley.

Implicit in their argument is the assumption that it is inherantly worse for the nation and more dangerous to the survival of our liberties to be governed by a liberal Democrat president than a modererate Republican president. But I would argue that exactly the opposite is the case.

Why? Because moderate Republicans believe in fundamentally the same philosophy of governance as liberal Democrats and will pursue the same policies but with this key difference: whereas a liberal Democrat president will polarize and unite the opposition to such policies, making it more likely that they can be frustrated and defeated, a moderate Republican president will coopt that same opposition, give bipartisan cover to the Democrats, relieve them of accountability, marginalize conservatives, and frustrate all efforts by the American people to slow or hault the federal government's relentless march toward centralism at home and globalism abroad.

As an illustration, let us consider the two most recent federal tax hikes, one signed by moderate Republican George Bush, Sr. and the other by liberal Democrat Bill Clinton. Which one was harder for the Congress to pass? Which one resulted in almost no political consequences for the Democrats in Congress and which one produced the ultimate political consequence for the Democrats in Congress? And, finally, which one tore the Reagan coalition to tatters and which one reunified that coalition like never before to stop the liberal Democrats cold?

You all know the answer to all three questions: the repercussions of the Bush tax hike were far more pernicious for the country and our freedom than the Clinton tax hike. They are identically bad policies, but with a moderate Republican at the helm, the federal government pulls them off without a hitch because of the bipartisan cover only a moderate Republican can provide. With a liberal Democrat at the helm and a united opposition, there is instead political hell to pay as a result.

So, my answer to the Bushies' fearmongering tactics is this: Experience has taught me that I am far more secure in what little liberty I yet possess with a liberal Democrat president than I am with a compromising, me-too, sell-out moderate Republican president like Bush, Sr. or his simpleton son. Therefore, in the fall, when I face the choice of Buchanan vs. Bush or McCain vs. Gore or Bradley, I will stand and proudly vote for the only true conservative in the race, Patrick J. Buchanan, and I will do so without fear, because I will know that whatever happens, the worst possible thing that could happen -- the election of a moderate Republican president -- won't.

Even better, if all of you do the same, we just might elect the first truly conservative president since Ronald Reagan. And isn't that hopeful prospect well worth the risk of not electing yet another worthless moderate Republican who probably wouldn't be elected anyway (like Dole)?

Someone Has To Say It: "Emperor Dubya Has No Clothes!"

Here comes Emperor Dubya, parading down America's Main Street, with a most impressive train. Why, armored cars full of money extend for blocks behind him, and the media bows down at his feet!

Grassroots Republicans, crowding the sidewalks and craning their necks just to catch a glimpse of their newly annointed King, can only marvel at the spectacle. Rarely have they seen anything like it. Who can resist being swept up by all the excitement and commotion attendant upon his arrival?

"Why, I see the finest conservative raiment draped upon him! All the media has commented and praised it. The GOP establishment has swooned, so fine are his garments. It must be true! Don't you see it?", the GOP faithful exclaim. So needful are they of a champion.

But I, like the boy in the fairy tale, MUST stand up and boldly shout, "This emperor has no clothes!"

He dons no conservative finery, but arrogantly prances stark naked before you, a globalist RINO in the buff.

Open your eyes, people! Look at him as he really is. All you need to know is right in front of your face, for all to see.

If you can stomach looking upon His Nakedness, here's what you will notice:

His left side is robust, healthy and strong, while his right side appears atrophied and limp.
His strong left arm and chest are covered with elaborate tatoos, each one appears to be a memorial to a past or present love interest, and each bears the initials of her name. Here are a few you can clearly make out if you look: CFR, UN, NATO, WTO, GATT, NAFTA, CIA, IRS, NWO. Funny, USA is nowhere to be found.
His spindly, weak right arm is covered with scar tissue, revealing a possible propensity for self-mutilation. It bears but one tatoo. A single phrase extends from wrist to shoulder: "Compassionate Conservatism"
His feet are unusually small, and he can barely walk. They appear to have been bound and stunted, as has been the custom for Chinese women. The Chinese, Clintons, and Bushes think that small feet make one beautiful; but American eyes can only view such bodily mutilations as the mark of submission, servility and dependence, not beauty.
He has no right testicle, only a left one. And his male organ is, well, a little on the small side.
If you look closely at his butt crack, you'll see a shred of paper sticking out. Apparently, he likes to use this paper as toilet paper. Upon closer inspection, you can see words written on it. Those with a discerning eye can even read the words. They begin, "We, the People...

Ok, enough gazing upon this man's naked, ugly bod! I've seen enough and so have you.

Now, let's see if we can't shake the rest of this crowd out of their media-manufactured, mass delusion. I mean, look at them! They're falling all over themselves, fawning over naked Dubya. It's really unseemly and embarassing.
